Post by e28 4 LIFE »

Just how much engin life is usually cranked out from the M30 motor (rebuilt) with medium turbo setup you know like about 10-15 lbs mabye more or not rebuilt mine has 206,000+ miles on it and it still feels strong. :D

I'd say at least 100,000 miles. But, this is an unknown until it happens. The 745i M106 engines easily exceeded 100K miles.

The question is way too nebulous. You won't be under boost all the time, and even if you did "setup you know like about 10-15 lbs mabye more or not" and you never got into any boost, there would be no difference. Are you going to romp on it every time you leave a stoplight? Will you be driving the car daily and will get into boost only once a week?

I think it's a pointless question since you live in Kalifornia and can't get the car to pass inspection since TCD's kit hasn't received CARB's blessing. Now if one where to start with a 524td and stuff it with a FI M30 that would be a different matter.
