My vote would be for the m106 block with the b35 head and intake using the appropriate pistons. If the m106 is available it has the piston oil squirters and the block is tap fpr turbo drainback and knock sensors. Just my two cents worth.
I won't consider taking apart the block. It's not worth it. I want a throw away motor which means no custom pistons. The hassle with the studs does make me reconsider a m30b34, after all Todd has had good success with it.

b35 block is tapped for a knock sensor as well. m106 motor is more "turbo friendly" from the get go but the m30b35 has a higher compression ratio which would limit the boost and tune combo you could use. if you are looking for wild power without cracking open the motor, you should probably go with the m106. if under 400 rwhp is your goal, go with the m30 b35, it is a fucking rock of a motor.

Where is that on the engine? I've got an early M30B35 out of an E24 that has a different external block configuration and would like to see if it has the same provision. TIA!
