The Devil is in the details......
So I have all of this "stuff" that needs to be installed in the engine compartment now.
1. Electromotive Idle control manifold with motor
2. Greddy boost control solenoid
3. Aquamist switches, manifold and sensors
4. other crap
You all know me, want to try to keep a tidy engine compartment. Now all of the "stuff " that needs to be installed has really bugged me. I don’t want crap all over the engine compartment screwed in here an there. The idle control presented a problem due to its size and that I could not just run a hose to it. The vacuum from the engine collapses the hoses I have tried. So I knew that I needed a metal tube to run most of the length from the stock BMW hose to the manifold. I knew it would not be easy to find such a thing, so I made one. I used 3/4" copper hot water pipe with various fitting to do the job. The top fitting will have a 90 degree 1/2" silicon hose with a small K&N filter attached. Because I have a MAP sensor, I can just pull air for the engine compartment for the idle control.
I also decided to mount all of these switches and stuff on one steel plate in one location.
Here is the end result -
You can also see the TCD intercooler I modified so I could install an air inlet temp sensor where the BMW idle air valve hose went. Also shown is the location of where the water nozzle will be located. There is currently a plug installed.
Now the plate, idle manifold and air tube are off to be powder coated to match (of course ) and then will be ready fo final install.

Just got word back from Savannah Powder coat. All of the various parts and pieces are finished and in the mail back to me today.
I mounted the Greddy EBC in the car last weekend and have all of the wiring and tubing ready for the solenoid. It is very close to CRANK UP THE BOOST time. I will also change the oil to Mobil 1 15W50 next week. The engine has 2400 miles on it (pulling -9 psi at idle) and is ready for synthetic oil and 20+ psi of boost......................question is, am I

A man after my own heart. Looks great and nice to see a clean control layout. Do post more pictures when you get a chance, so we can see all the aspects of the installation. I am considering a TCD installation next year for my M20, so I am greatly interested in seeing other turbo installations and plumbing, in detail.
