Cylinder head work ideas/toughts/suggestions?

Hi, Been a while since i posted.

I was starting my Turbo project but have been to busy to touch it, and in that time i didnt touch it.
I got to thinking, instead of putting it on the 2.8 litre 9:1 I ll get a Lower comp 3.5 8:1

So i was lucky enough to come across a nice recently rebuilt 3.5, took off the small end caps checked the bearings all good. (even still has the cross hatch markings on the bore from rebuild.)

Anyway...how should i prep this for my turbo?
(i was just going to put it on stock before on the 2.8..ut that has changed)

My friend who is fairly expert on Turbo BMW sez i should get new "Good" Main bolts and head studs for it, befroe putting it back together.

The other question is what should i do to the head?

Leave it with stock cam i gather?
Port it?
Double valve springs?
Stainless Valves? (i think that is what i mean)
Stock head gasket?

I want a reliable engine.

At the moment it is just the case of prepping the engine together ready for the turbo.

Convert to studs as your friend said and get an MLS head gasket.

You can do more, but why? You can get giddy rebuilding and never get to the turbo. Remember "Joviality is a game of children."

ARP cyl head studs and MLS gasket and call it a day.

Good to see youve finally come to your senses and gotten a 3.5
I plan to give the head a port at some stage, but not that keen to pull it apart just yet. Wat computer u planning to run?

I was going to use a Wolf 3D V4...but it appears they dont make them anymore. (ultimate budget ECU)

They only make a V5 now. and it is pricey they got a good name with the V4.

I might use the Hawk which is another.

If i can pick up a Wolf 3D seond hand i will use that.....was considering Megasquirt...but my friend thinks they are..well not crap...dificult to explain his logic in detail which i agree with...if i do i will get flamed LOL

anyway. I will be doing what todd just mentioned...but maybe do a little bit more with the head if $$$ allows.

Im not after insane power.

I cant wait to get into it..but have work and Projects out my .. so getting time during the week to get stuuf organised for the weekend is a PITA.
