A little mye28 history.

Post by T_C_D »

You know, way back in 2000/2001 I had just entered the online e28 scene. It really was not too common to have friends/strangers over to your house that you met on the internet. e28 gatherings were mostly non existent.

Feb 2002 I met some guys for the first time. Duke and Brad Kirk met at Rockingham Dragstrip for the first drag event.

That was a great time.

Then we had a small meet at my house in NC. Paul LaDue delivered my euro 535i that weekend. Duke, Brad Kirk and Ryan came over. Duke graciously replaced my dashboard. My boys loved helping.

Then I am demonstrated how to do a brake stand burnout with a 5 speed car.

Even Paul LaDue was smiling.

Duke's shorts add 50hp due to the "cooling effect" :)

Todd,

Where were you in NC? I lived in NC for 17 years from 7/1978 to 8/1995. Last 10 years were in Durham, Raleigh and G-boro.

Guess I'm strange. I saw the last pic and thought, "Oh, Paul's a runner." After running competitively for 12 years, you get used to short shorts. I won't run in long ones now unless I'm doing less than 5 miles or so with someone slower than me.

It might be nice to post pics of past meetings in the community section. For those who were not here then to see how things have progressed... or digressed...
