2.8l power output

Post by zundfoldge »

i got a 2.8l m30 in my e28. i am going turbo in three weeks now that i got it in and all the kinks worked out i can remove it from my e28 and rebuild the motor and bolt up my turbo and various other parts. and this is the 1st part of my quest for answers. so what can i exspect for tourk and hp from this motor stock. thats question one. heres the other half i have a new rebuilt bottom end of a 3.5l m30 . can i bolt this bottom end up to my 2.8l head. and if so should i and would i be looking at better gains hp and trk wise? note that i am running e12 electronic fule injection if that helps get any more answers.

thanks

This is where I started with my project. You cant really peg a certain power output for any particular motor. There are a lot of variables. What it can do will depend on how long you want it to last and what you intend to use the car for. The best advice I can give you is to eduacte yourself. Don't expect to get all the right information from everyone else. Theres a whole lot of BS out there. You don't want any of that.

Others will know better than I, but if I recall correctly, you're going to need to retard the timing from stock when on boost.
