I think I need a 24 valve engine. An M50 would do...

Looks like an S38 running big boost (1.5 bar = 21.7 psi) to me and he's using ethanol for fuelin the last dyno run. At least that's what I believe the C2H5OH reference on the rear window is about.

Sheeeeeeeet! Did he just scratch the tires in 5th gear? The thing seems undriveable with that much RWHP. I imagine he'll be going through clutches pretty regularly...

Suppose he has a one piece drive shaft? Think a guibo could handle that?

Nice, but be's not top of the heap in the e34 s38 world. Who's got the link to guy who dragged the car with the 2 speed powerglide? Ran a 9 sec quarter mile or something utterly silly like that. I don't have any links handy.

Vidar strand built both a e34 m5 that ran 8, 83 1/4 mile with a single turbo setup, as well as an e36 m3 with s38b38 (3,9 litres) twin turbo setup that ripped through the 1/4 mile in 7,64 seconds, m5 has 1182 hp, the m3 has 1400 hp.

your not really serious about that first car being stock are you? it's progress was posted on some swedish forum, its a fully built s38 in an e34 525i chassis, fuel cell, pt88 turbo, a shit ton of chassis mods, that thing is about as far from stock as you can possibly get.

I'm willing to bet Ken H's m5 would give this a run for it's money!

I'd love to find out.

Re. The Hammer:
Some of the more sedate comments and impressions from various observers:
“You are a sick and evil man.” Patty Tunnell, SCCA Solo National Champion, D Stock (Ladies).

“An automotive equivalent to a chronic bed-wetter.” Justin Pierce, MileHigh Performance, Electromotive TEC-3 wizard.

“Speed runs over back roads in this car are better than sex. I get off and my cervix doesn’t ache from being pounded on by Big Louie.” Spouse.

“Now that you’ve done this, how do you intend to fund the rest of your kid’s college tuition?” Jack White, next door neighbor.

“You can expect to hear from my lawyers.” Peter Gross, another (now ex-) neighbor. This is the gonif with the SL 55 AMG, who was taken to school, had his toilet flushed, then got spanked. Big Time.

“Mr. Hawkins, from what I just observed, you have a very serious problem with this car, and I have a very serious problem with you. You usually drive like that?” Cpl. Dennis Reich, Colorado State Patrol.

“See? I told you what you were going to get.” Paul Burke, engine builder extraordinaire who cleaned up the first fool’s mess. That’s different from Bush, the First Fool. :]]

“Thing is subtle as a used condom in a confessional booth.” Doug Rigney, fellow ///M owner and unindicted co-conspirator.

“This has no business being on the street.” Jim Leithauser, 3-time SCCA Solo SSB champion.

“More fun than watching the hogs eat my kid brother.” John Titus, partner-in-crime.

All things in time. . . .
Video clips at present would consist of looking at the a$$ end of the minivan in front of me. :?
Not a lot of chances to do much this summer. Hopefully things will loosen up a bit by Labor Day.
My phone camera pictures suck rocks. #1 son has stolen my good videocam (see previous remark).

Ahhh - well spoken from an individual living well in an economy that affords him the means to spend capital on a rather expensive automotive indulgence.

No hunting and gathering here.

i dont mean to put you down because your car shows a level of attention to detail and to craftsmanship that most cars dont see from the factory (!) but that 525 has a pt88 race turbo and that thing is still asleep at 1.5 bar boost! i think it would be a fun race but i think if he ever decided to crank the boost a bit, he'd be miles ahead of you.

Pretty weak bench racing right there. I'll just say: I doubt it.
