Little turbo set-back!

Post by Jays535is »

So I got the manifold bolted on to do some mocking up. Then I realise that my turbo is way to big to fit. Basically the turbo protrudes about 4-5" past were the manifold ends, but there's only about 2-3" to the frame rail. :brickwall:

Problem solved.

Manifold is a NOS cartech unit that I bought threw Miller performance. The turbo is the actual problem as it needs to be a "ON" center type turbo to fit (thanks Todd). I fixed it by buying my brothers turbo which was from an old Korman kit. Heres my actual turbo f.s. on ebay.

Next time you call me to ask for advice I would appreciate some honesty. Telling me you had one of my manifolds wasn't quite the truth was it?

Why didn't you call Miller or Cartech?

Glad I was able to solve your problem.

We'll I didn't say manifold, I said downpipe and I got the AFM bracket. I guess if you want me to call Miller for any up coming purchases I will. :dunno:

I also edited my post to give you thanks.

We'll If I did say manifold, then I apologize I meant downpipe. The conection was pretty bad sooo... Anyway I guess being the only "game" in town affords you the ability to be an ASS wipe. Oh and do you have a tracking # for the downpipe and AFM bracket? I'm sure it's on it's way, but now I'm having serious doubts!

It has nothing to being the only game in town. In fact, I would prefer that you refuse the package and I'll refund your money.

So it just comes natural? Your arogance is awesome! I will accept it and move along.

Thread over and out.

Todd isn't the ASS wipe, you are. Todd is running a 100% up front legitimate business. You on the other hand did not buy the manifold from Todd, but told him otherwise. Why, did you think Todd wouldn't provide you with some advise ? Todd might have provided you with some info, but he isn't obligated to do so. What Todds knows about turboing the E28 is proprietary to TCD, Inc.

Your add on eBay isn't above board either. There isn't a legitimate company doing business in the U.S. that can use T04E except Garrett. What you're selling is a Made in China RIPOFF of a Garret product. And since you aren't 100% certain of who manufactured the center section, you shouldn't be mentioning Garrett at all. Your ad is ambiguously worded to mislead a prospective purchaser into believing they're purchasing a Garrett center section.

If you were being 100% honest, your add would state that you're selling a Chinese manufactured clone of a Garrett T04E turbo.

I guess you must have been on the phone with us? I started out buy saying I just bought a downpipe from you and I have a problem with my turbo fitment, which really has nothing to do with the downpipe.

It was automatically assumed since we were talking about turbo fitment that I said manifold. Anyway you were on the phone with us so, that's why you can back it up right?

And far as the turbo goes it came with my car when I purchased it. It's says TO4E on the blue tag. I also state that it's is a Garrett "Knock OFF" so...

Jay,

You called and asked for my help. You descibed the problem. I asked you what manifold you were using and your responded, "yours or TCD".

I knew I had not sold the manifold directly to you but I cannot keep track of all the manifolds we have sold so I just figured you bought it second hand.

Why you would expect me to help you with a problem on a manifold you bought from one of my competitors is beyond me.

Better yet, call Cartech and ask them about their current offerings. It's only been "coming soon" for two years.

You bought a used Cartech unit from Miller, then instead of calling either of them, wanted TCD to provide support for it. This why you're not real popular.

Speaking of Cartech, they are local here in San Antonio and I was trying to find a few general turbo components locally so I called them, and called them and they have yet to answer the phone or return any of my emails. I don't even know if there IS a Cartech anymore. Needless to say since Corky sold the business its pretty much gone downhill.

I already got a manifold, It just doesn't say TCD on it. After getting the manifold there's a wealth of places to get the rest! As far as I know TCD didn't invent turbocharging, but I'm sure someone will argue that they did.

Anyway it's been a good adrenaline rush to say the least! Not to worried about popularity either, I'll leave that to the clones.

Imagine if you just had called Todd and said "I don't have your manifold, but could I ask you a few questions?"

He's a good guy... and everyone is here to help, until you start screwing people over...

It's pointless to try to explain it again! We were on the phone, miss communication, and then every body takes there sides. All I can do now is beat the dead horse. :deadhorse:

Well, no. You could actually admit to what happened (yes, most of us tend to believe Todd rather than you, go figure), whether intentional or not, apologize, and and try to move on. Instead, you've chosen to be very stubborn and a bit arrogant.
