Luis,

If you only have basic mechanical skills, your only option is to pay someone to turbocharge your car.

You would be MUCH better off hanging aroudn the board for a while and learning from the forced induction forum.

also see www.turbochargingdynamics.com That's user "T_C_D" 's site.. he's an EXCELLENT resource for turboing an E28.. basically, he's the way to go.

Start with this book. If there is a better tutorial on turbocharging I haven't come across it yet. Read that and then ask questions.

It probably won't be about turbo's what? Ah, you mean it probably won't be about turbos -- gotcha. ;) Maybe Luis's grammar, spelling, and punctuation will be "scared straight" by my reputation and I won't have to intervene, but... :dunno:

He said "I misseppled," which is past tense. Thus, was he not "misseppling" at some point? :dunno:

I guess that's why I don't go around trying to correct people. You're way better at it

wow... Anyway... back to his main point... i second the fact that you should get "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell... while an older book and some technology is no longer the same it is one of the best tutorial books on learning the basics of turbocharging and you can't go wrong with it even if you only read over it once... I am planning on turbo charging my 535i and probably installing it myself and i owe all my mechanical knowledge to that book and this forum...

although i must say when i started here there was a lot less pointless squabbling which may have helped... but please stick with us and learn to look past it... you'll learn a lot!

Yeah, and alot of pointless "sqaubbling" is that no one knows how to write! I think it's great that someone like Shawn D. corrects us. As long as he's correcting one of my mistakes, he can treat me however. That is what's terribly wrong with society now, mediocrity is king and there are not enough people around to put you in your place when you fuck up. In fact, people seemingly get upset when not allowed to do things half-assed. Learn to take some criticism and better yourself at the same time!

Contributing to the topic:
Luis, my advice is that you need to barter some paint/body work to have a turbo installed. If the work goes on at your shop, you'll be able to hang around and learn as it goes. Use your skills to your advantage! ;)

Yes I agree that grammar should always be clear and understandable... I am only 21 and so far I think my vocabulary is much stronger than a lot of peoples'... although i do make mistakes.

I was simply referring to some of the other pointless arguments that are popping up lately... I almost think that bimmer forums has been sending us their unwanted... (a harsh overstatement of course!)

...and a warm welcome to you there luis305 from the hospitality committee. we're all about buttery biscuits and fuzzy furniture here.

don't give up just yet, my friend. you've only posted twice.

after your...

grammar
lack of knowledge of e28s
religious preference
sexual orientation
political leanings
husky 3rd grade girlfriend and
"insert vulnerability here"

have been extricated, cold-rolled and given a good flambé, you will then be entitled to some basic direction and respect.
Again, welcome!
