i need to drill/tap out my b35 head for the m10 studs, Is this a drill press kind of job, or should I take it to a machinist? Also, what can be used to tap it? I just have a very simple tap/die set.
Its a bare head that's already seen the machine shop once, so it's nice and clean.
745 studs
I'm pretty sure there's an "adapter stud" type of thing that can be used. Fits the stock threads on one side but has the proper threads for the 745i manifold on the other.
Contact Todd at TCD, I think he used to sell them. He should at least be able to tell you where you can get them.
Failing that, Duke's right, you'll need a machine shop.

I want the real deal, for the extra support of the turbo. Even with a brace.
How much should this cost? My brother once had the head bolt holes drilled out on his VW diesel head, and i seem it was pretty cheap, but that didn't require tapping.
Oh also, if it's going to be there, do the timing covers need to be machined flush with the head like on m10s? My head's been planed, before I got it, and there's a difference.
