If you want a bolt on turbo kit you probably aren't going to be able to beat a TCD kit. And in my experience Todd has been great to deal with.

Check out:

Search through this forum as there is more than enough info to answer your question. With that being said, the 745i parts, while they will work, will be less than superior to modern turbo hardware. Plus you are dealing with 20+ year old parts. The parts will work though. If you don't have fab skills or the resources, buying a sorted kit from TCD is really your only option. Also, there are several turbo owners on this forum, myself included, who have built successful homebrew systems, but it requires alot of time, effort and engineering to get it right and have excellent results.

Depends on your perspective and definition of "best" I suppose.

Any aftermarket system for the m30 that I've ever seen outperforms the system on the 745i. The TCD system has the most modern components and is the only production manifold still being cast. The rest are only available used.
