They'll look black, like M5 bumpers, if done in a "satin" finish. I am amazed by the number of black and silver choices available at our local powder-coat purveyor.
Go with the closest match to your black B-pillar trim and it'll look stock. I need to have my front one done - how much did they quote you?

Have you considered having them painted body color? I had mine painted the same time the body was and I'm always getting compliments on how good it looks. I know it's a matter of taste, but I wouldn't put black bumpers on a light-colored car -- you could use 'lectrical tape as a test, though.
Sorry, that ain't the best bumper shot -- Shifty has a better one, but it hasn't been re-posted to his site yet.

what color is your car? personally i like the chrome on our cars, actually no i dont like the chrome on the US bumper but on the EURO its nice... in fact i know a lot of people do the whole blackout shadowline everywhere thing but i'm gonna go with chrome accents, i think it makes the cars features stick out better, and on my black car i think it looks nice.

It's Bronzit Beige. I've actually saw a Bronzit Beige car with chromed bumpers at 5erFest 2004. It looked good and the finish was well done. As Shawn D. said, painted bumpers is also an option as well. The car does need repainted and it would make sense. As for shadowline trim, I've only seen it on darker color cars.
