Urethane bushings

Does any company manufacture urethane bushings for E28 or are they a custom order? Subframe bushings needed especially. Does anybody know the measures for them?

They are made by RSTS but I do NOT recommend them. They do not want to stay in place.

I second Todd's comment - they tend to move around (tried them on my E30 track car and my E28 daily driver) are extremely hard - LOTS of road and drivetrain noise. I went with stock bushings in the E28 and Group N mounts in the E30.

Maybe TMS will come up with some solid subframe mounts for the E28 like they have for the E30...

One popular option is to get oem subframe mounts and fill them with poly yourself. Polyurethane kits for this purpose can be had from McMaster Carr. One can will fill one diff mount and one set of subframe mounts with a little left over.

The result is mounts that're stiffer than stock by a good degree but don't transmit a lot noise to the cabin and actually stay in place just as well as stock ones do. I filled a set for myself but have yet to install them.

I did the McMaster Carr goop on both e28's. IMHO this really isn't neccessary for average driving. I finally removed them from the daily driver but left them on the 535.

BMW Bushings sell the the REAR Sub frame bushings made of Urethane.

I have the stock bushings filled with poly. I really like them, and I can barely tell a difference in noice...but then, I am 20, and I don't care. I also have a 12" subwoofer in the trunk :D My car is on its way to full track service, so I need the poly......if your car will not see any track time, I would just say go with the stock bushings, as they really are strong and will last a long time.....
