I know oem is the way to go. I also think that I know that Lemforder is the best choice for suspension and steering components. I have notice thru exhaustive searching that Lemforder does not sale (or nobody has them) components for every suspension/steering component. So my question is which components will it be okay for the "other German" brands. The components in question are: 1. Lower control arms. 2. Drag link. 3. Tie rods. 4. Pitman arms (dog bones). 5. sway bar links (front and rear). The "other German" manufactures in question are Meyle, Federal Mogul/TRW, MOOG, Hamburg-Technic, and Febi.
Mr. Haygood please weigh in!

cheers

bobby, are you gonna be doing all that suspension work soon? Let me know if you need some help. I'll probably be doing some more work on the front of the eta as my lower control arms/bushings and upper control arm bushings have been replaced recently, but I still have some shimmy, plus a popping sound whenever I slow to a stop (not the strub bearings though). I guess I need to know what brands are good too then, so I can order a few things.

Depends on the part, I have had bad experience with febi tie rods, and Meyle everything( except water pumps). I try to stick with the ones I have had good experience with. One of the better brands is Heyd, oem for MB . Send a number and I'll call you and go over the options with you

Yes I am. But how soon I do not know. I hope I can get this car on the road in the near future. I have only driven it once and that was in August of 2004 when I drove its rundown a*s home. I initially was not going to replace these items but then I remember an old saying by my dad, "If you're going to do it halfway, don't do it at all." LOL. Yeah, we still need to get together sometime before you head off to college. Mr. Haygood I will try to be in contact with you soon.
