Asbestos that is what helps. not sure if that is still available in america?

No need for asbestos -- go with Axxis Deluxe (that is the correct spelling -- use that EXACTLY when you Google them). I use Axxis Metalmasters, which are low dust, but for non-aggressive driving, the Deluxe will do fine and have very little dust.

I have PBR's on my car and I'm pretty happy with them. Good braking performance and very little dusting.

Hey steve, on your site, the rear pads say Repco or Mintex brand, but the front ones dont say that.... are the front ones for $22 bucks dustless also?

I have used many brands over the years and must say that all of them dust enough that I have to clean my wheels at least once a week. Some a little more than others.Maybe it may have something to do with my driving habits. Some people have used Kleen wheels dust shields to help with this and now some people are applying wheel-wax to their rims. I have more than one car so I end up replacing brake pads and rotors quite often. I have been using 2 brands more than any other recently, because I get special pricing on them. The Pagid pads give you a comfortable pedal and low noise and great performance, but they do dust. I use them for the Benz. The Jurid pads are just as good. Both of these have some kind of graphite that makes them dust a little more than I'd like, similar to Mercedes oem. I'd have to say that PBR is a less dusty pad and yield great performance, noise levels and longevity. They have been my pad of choice for quite some time. I have bought maybe 6 sets of them for my different cars. Here is a pic:

22.00 , should be showing 23.00 is repco for the s38/s88 engined cars and early e12 type cars. Later cars are closer to 30-35

Please note that all these references to Repco, Axxis, and PBR is not a difference of opinions or a selection of choices. They are the same pads. It is simply that they have been sold under a succession (variety?) of names. Personally, I prefer the Metalmaster pads over the Deluxe. I know thay make noise more often and there's always that one cold stop in the morning, but they're a great dual-purpose (street/track) pad that shares the Deluxe's low/light grey dusting characteristics.

My personal experience is Axxis/PBR Deluxe suck. Not up to even slightly enthusiastic driving. Never again.

In Pagid I trust.

to each his own, I have sold Pagid...but for my car, no way....IF you need a pad for aggressive driving then metal masters, if normal driving then deluxe or Mintex. Too much dust and noise is my experience with pagid. I know some like, just not on my cars ;)

uhhmn, I dont give a rats behind what my stock bottle caps look like. Though driving in snow seems to be cleaning up the wheels. PBR deluxes give good stoppage, are quiet, and last about 30-50k depending on the commute.

I'm with Tony on this. I've had PBR's in the past, but NEVER again, on anything. Pagid, Jurid, ATE, or Textar. MetalMasters, no matter what name they fall under, have zero pedal feel, zero cold braking ability, and are very difficult to modulate. Add in noisy, and they become pure junk. Only the OE stuff for me.

BTW, Steve was nice enough to source me Pagid pads for my 323i. One complaint with Pagid pads though. Anyone else notice that they stink like fish when they're new in the box? I had a set sitting on my desk once, and had to move them to the corner of my shop. Couldn't handle the stink. A friend came by to visit, saw the box, and said something liek "Oh, you also use the Pagis Fish pads, eh?". He's got a 528e.
