to those with jc whitney keyless entry
I had the JC Whitney keyless entry on my first 528e. Worked great for a while until both key fobs took a crap and the unit quit working! I'll probably buy another anyway.
As I recall, you just mount it in the trunk because that's the lock unit that's easiest to get to. The central locking module is located just underneath the trunk latch inside the trunk. It has all of the wires you need, so don't worry about using the antenna wiring.
I see you have an '88, so your wire colors should be the exact same as the ones I'm about to give you:
Brown: Ground (duh)
Red/White: Always hot
Red/Brown: Unlock Inhibit Switch
Blue: Goes to the trunk lock motor
White: Goes to the trunk lock motor
Red/Yellow: Unused
You may need to play with the blue wire and the white wire to see which one is lock and which is unlock, but those are the two wires you need for lock and unlock. You also need the brown wire and the red/white for constant power. IIRC, that's all you need is those four wires.
HTH!
