Can someone please post a the wiring diagram for power seats with memory from an ETk.Stupid me took apart all of the interior of the 86 535i parts car and now we cannot get the very good condition Lhama Beige comfort power heated seats out.We tried using a battery charger to get power to the seats directly but it no work.We think that there must be a secondary power source or the wires go to the ECU to get them to work.I've tried removing the small 10mm bolts that hold the seat to the power carraige but it is very difficult to do.Does anybody have any suggestions before we scrap the car with these nice seats. We just want to get the seats moved forward so i can undo the 2 rear large bolts off.

I hear Mark D'Sylva's chips work wonders on these seats, but you have to use high-octane leather preservative! :D :D :D

.Hey Shawn, got your teef in? :D I'm no Ron W, but I will give it my best shot. The 88 etm. section 5200-a, general notes, says that you must have power on fuses 19 and 26 for the memory function to work. key in run . the section is about 10pages. No schematics unfortunately for the mem seats in it. Just diagnostic tables. At the 26 pin connector , C1, and C4 ( smaller connector?) of the seat mem module. you need 12v between C4, pin 8 and C4, pin10 . Pin 8 is + , pin 10 is ground. On C1, pin 3 is +, and pin 26 is ground. Ooh, ooh, I think I just found the gazotta.5200a-3 table B. Connector C2, should have 12volts between pin1 and pin 4. No mention of polarity, so these are prolly the leads to the motor. My ETM gives no clue as to the location of the seat memory module. I'm guessing that is under one of the seats in place of the regular dumb seat control box. BTW, if you could reach it, you could prolly bypass all this stuff by cutting the leads to the proper seat motor and hot wiring the motor. Re- splice later. Hope you dont let the smoke out. Good luck, Ted

you can prolly use the seats with a dumb control module like the std US power comforts use. make sure you grab the switches and the harness from them to the seats. The rest can be adapted in probably . Or if that looks to be a hassle, just swap the seat cushions onto the manual frames. The front seats in the grape are built from parts from 4 different seats, manual and power.
