i have seen a E28 with the front Vader seats before and it was a long time ago. I cant remember how it looked. I just have a few questions, I am considering doing it. If you have a pic. please post it.

Do they bolt same as the regular seats? how much rooms is left? Would Power/Heated vaders work the same as the e28?

thanks in advance

probably need a custom frame-adaptor... no big deal, any custom shop can do it.

you'd need to rig a wiring harness though, for the heat especially... but again, well within th meeans of most amateurs.

however, if you bid on my seats... your car might mysteriously catch fire.... :D:D

the only hangup would be the absolute width of the seat vs. the rocker-console dimension in the E29

I've seen vader seats in an E30, modified to fit. So if they fit in there, it should go into the E28 fine with no space issues.

I test fit a set in my car and disliked the looks.

what was it that you disliked? do they just stand out to much, or just personal preferance?

They just looked wrong. Brackets were going to be a bitch and the seats were too wide.

Are you doing this for the look or performance? I don't like the Vaders much because they lack in side bolsters. The seats look like they have good side bolstering, but the lumbar sticks out too far, essentially lifting your back off the seat a bit so the bolsters dont do their job. The e28 sport seats would hold you in place better.

I've seen an E28 with them and the combination of early '80s interior and late '90s seats looked like crap, IMO. The style is a glaring mis-match.

As was stated E36 seats suck. The sport seats have no lateral support and the vaders have crap lumbar and marginally better lateral.
Id vote for classic Recaro SE's or the like. Ive seen some used ones on craigslist pretty cheap.

I was doing it more for looks than performance. I had a tan leatherette interior in the car before, but bought a parts car with black leather and the front seats are very warn and are ripping. I guess its not the greatest of ideas then. thanks for the input.
