M5 spoiler question
I just recieved my M5 spoiler via Fedex today, and upon inspection of the spoiler, I noticed that it really didn't feel like a fiberglas spoiler. In fact, it had quite a bit of flex and sounded like urethane when I "knocked" on it with my knuckles. Is there a difference between the M5 and 535is, or do I have some kind of replica spoiler? If it is indeed urethane, that would be wonderful because that's much nicer if it encounters any small animals, rocks, potholes, etc.
The Hartge spoiler is, unfortunately, made of fiberglass. I believe the Alpina may be, too. Most, if not all, BMW factory front spoilers for the E28 are made of ABS plastic.
I wish I knew how to work with that stuff so I could replicate the factory, Alpina, and Hartge spoilers. Fiberglass is really not cool for a front spoiler.

Fiberglass is really very easy to patch and repair. It's not so flexible / forgiving, however.
I bottomed out hard on a steep parking area ramp in the dark last year. The spoiler appeared scraped a little and it wasn't until the next day that I saw the force had wrinkled the fender at the wheel arch.
Oh, well.
