I wish you would've come up, too! Hey, that reminds me: I'm planning on being in BR/NO around the beginning of April. Are you and Kyle gonna be available for a get-together?

Dave's color is Royal Blue, yup. For the E28, it was MY 87 and 88 only.

Thanks for the comment on my interests. David Hasselhoff is truly the greatest singer in the world. ;)

17" Mille Miglia MM-112. That's 11 squared, not one-hundred-twelve.

You can find them on Tire Rack's website. I want to say Jay's wheels are 17x8, but you can get them in 17x9, as well.

HTH,

Oh. . . Da Parts Pimp has them on his Diamondschwartz 535iS, too, but his aren't the shadow chrome finishing like on JBort's.

You got it. Looks like it may be Saturday the 2nd / Sunday the 3rd of April that I'd be coming to NO. Or we could do something in the middle of the week. I'm extremely flexible.

I'll keep ya posted!

Ok - to add a twist to this.
What is the rarest colour?

Hennarot?
Cinnabarrot?[/QUOTE]

I think Savannah Beige is about the rarest BMW color I've seen on an E28 5er. In fact I've onlly seen one and it was my '83 533i.

I don't have a particular color I'd call my favorite. I do tend to lean towards the darker hues though, providing the clearcoat isn't doing funky stuff.

not that this has a lot to do with E28 colours - BUT.
there is an 02 colour called FLORIDA.
It can be pure white, yellow, very pale lime green -- all dependent on the light and the angle you look at it -- AWESOME.

Best description I've ever seen. I do have a few pics from 5er Fest #1 that I could send you. I believe there were a few pics of my 533i in the 5er Fest photos from Ft Worth.

First Choice: Salmon Silver with black interior
and period correct exposed bolt Alpina wheels
you never see this color on our cars. Unique and Exclusive
Marco in Northern CA has this combo,
I would sell / trade my Diamond Schwarz in a heart beat for that set-up.

Second Choice: Delphin Grey, is that the one darker than Salmon Silver
and lighter than Diamond Schwarz? New style Alpina wheels

Third Choice: Alpine White or is it Weis? Style 5's

Fourth Choice: Diamond Schwarz, my car :) Wheels all the above, I wish

Rich, the page with all of my pics of your 533i is still on my website and will stay there, too. If you ever find some more pics for me, feel free to shoot them out to me so I can get them on the 'net.

Brad,

Thanks for posting the pics. I've got a few other pics of the 533 I can send you. I'll try to forward them to you sometime today.

OT:I've been sick with the flu since last Thursday, today is the first day I don't feel like I've been run over by a truck.

My favorite E28 color is Burgundrot:

Image

I did like the "Mink" brown I saw on a 528e when I was searching for E28s back in '92.

The most bizarre stock color on an E28 (and one of the rarest, I'd bet) is this metallic pinkish/orangey/salmon-flesh color I've seen on one E23 and on one E28 in a junkyard. In fact, I have a brake line bracket in that color as I pulled it off the junkyard car; given the paint patterns, label in the engine compartment, and no evidence of any other paint job, I'm confident that was the original paint.

As for interior colors, I prefer the light browns (Pearlbeige, Natur, Llama) and the brown Buffalo. I find the dark greenish-brown interior, umm... "interesting" and blue interiors are downright unnatural!

First post and asking to be called a geek. I'm not gonna do it, others like bronzitbiege, too.

I like Randy's Blue Turd. I hope it is on the road again now. The other blues are nice, too as is the white.

Ya know, it's starting to grow on me, too. I like it, because, in some lights, it looks silver. Oh, and it's stealthy, too. I'm not a big fan of the actual color, but I like its by-products. :)

Huh? I just sold one of those (Lachssilber mit Schwartz) last year. And the one I have left sitting in the garage is *also* Lachssilber only it has the Cardinal interior. I even have *one* of those wheels. Anybody got a threesome to part with? Need one?"]

Yes, it is.

Alpinweiss. A good choice.

OK, my bias is a little obvious. I loved the Cinnabar Red cars when they were new and I still do. Since mine is an '88 and is Cinnabar, I'm pretty sure the E28 never got Henna Red. At least I've never seen one. Seems to me I first saw it on the later E30 M3s. While we're on bright reds, did the early E28 ever get Verona Red? That was the color of my old 2002 and I wondered if it was around long enough to be used on the E28.

I also tend to like all E28s, but when I was on my third silver one (a Polaris '82 and two Lachs '87s), I was shopping for either red or white. I'd forgotten how good it looked and I'm delighted with this red. The white, like black, is striking in a different way. I find all the others 'dignified' while the red is just plain impertinent. A 4-door sedan isn't supposed to be that bright. Then again, it isn't supposed to be that fast, either. ;)

For US-bumpered cars:
1. diamond schwarz
2. cinnabar red
3. Alpine white
4. delphin grey

However, I would love for my car to someday be Henna red or Inka orange with shadoline trim, black euro bumpers, and nekkid t-stars. I think that would look badass! What was the orange color that the "Jagermeister" race cars used in the '80s?
