This weekend was a busy one. I had a stockpile of stuff i'd gathered while the car was in the shop and being that the car was final back, it was time to put it all on. In no particular order... rewired the head lights, fogs and turns (returned to stock euro configuration from PO's and federalization setup), installed HL wipers and washers+intensive system and to my surprise, it all worked  . Installed alpina 4 spoke wheel and dead pedal, rear view mirror with map lights, installed fire extinguisher and m5 trunk trim. i removed the a/d/s box components from the doors and replaced with new cards and Diamond Audio component speakers... installed floor mats, storage net, replaced flare nuts on underhood trim, bought a new battery and replaced all of the old, tired seatbelt receptacles with new ones. Then wiped it down and treated the seats with leatherique... Now all thats left is to detail it and install the alpina spoiler and m-system wheels :alright:

Replaced every cracked or missing wire cover or loom under the car! Don't laugh, it took forever!

Painted the iron part of the Differential with 2 coats of POR 15 semi gloss black and one coat of truck bed coating.

And yes, I have black speckles on my skin to prove it!

Replaced the driveshaft and center bearing, front sway bar bushings and end links, installed O2 sensor, washes it (been sitting for about a year  ), filled it up with gas and took it for a short drive. with everything I've done, it performs better I think mostly due to the AFM arm adjustment. I did reach an indicated 100 MPH.

WELL, all was well with my world today, for it was the first official wrench day of the year for me. I stripped the bumpers and trim off the '84 in preparation for the upcoming repaint. Karl the Mad Scientist was prepping the body for the paint work to come. We got a good bit accomplished. Yeah for progress!

Replaced the Speed and Reference sensors with a set recently purchased from a board member.

It fired right up, even with nearly year old gas in the tank.

Was going to spend the day swapping in a new-to-me wiring harness for the back half of the car and remove the tow-package hackjob a previous owner installed, but ended up having to leave it in another city and bum a ride home due to a shot voltage regulator and an inability to acquire one in that town.

No worries Warren, always glad to help when I can, although I am a little sore today! BTW, does that e28 make my ass look fat?

Beautiful shots! A little late in the season for beaches isn't it? We had some friends from Melbourne spend a weekend with us a couple of weeks back, and they said they put the heat on in their house before leaving. Looks like the surfers are wearing body suits, or is that normal for any time of year?

yeah, it was chilly, I had a sweatshirt and a jacket on during those.. but it doesn't change pretty :) The surf was beautiful though, some storms out there, and Bells Beach is where the surf competitions are held, and where the "rip curl pro australia" had been held a few hours prior (from what I understand, Kelly Slater won it).

I'm new to Australia, but from what my wife tells me, the fall/winter isn't any less nice than the summer, just cooler :) which of course makes her happy because she's 'sick of the heat'.. I'm just happy for sun since I'm originally from the Seattle region :)

533:

Swapped out the radio for one that's just as bad, though it will sometimes send sound to both channels.

535:

Put most everything back together after it was apart for the Fuse 5 Short Fest 2010. I still have to replace the hood release cable, so I didn't put the left lower dash panel back in place. Cable *should* be in tomorrow.

And just for good measure, let's throw in the other two:

525iT

Replaced the AFM-Throttle boot. The old one was split in the accordion section despite still being quite pliable. Ordered another, but it was for a non-ASC car (BTW, if anyone needs, let me know...otherwise, it's going back for credit). Waited a week to get this one from the dealer.

M535i

Replaced the RHS tail lamp with a US one, that has a good lens and chrome ring. Found the broken chunk of reverse lens from the left side and glued it back in place since EVERY FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT busts out the left lamp in the yard to gain access to the trunk. FUCK YOU! I removed the Home Depot front and rear license plate brackets as it pissed me off every time I pulled in the driveway.

Still doesn't run. Don't really care. I'll get to that one of these days. I just need to make the car look less like a monumental piece of shit so my neighbors don't say anything. Next up duct tape over the rust.

i filled the tank to the top for the first time and learned that the dent in the tank makes it hold 8 less litres than it should. pump stops with only 49 litres in the tank.

I don't have a dent and only fit 48.5 litres.

I've had problems with my taillights due to leaking taillight gaskets. I rewired the lamp holder to get to a better spot on the grid. I also adjusted the trunk latch so that the trunk lid closes tighter on the gasket. After replacing all of the ignition components, the car runs really nice!

Just got my new Gloss Haus system, so began the long process of getting my '87 528e's paint back into shape. Amazing what a good buffer and good product does. About half way done and it's really lookin' sweet. Also put on my newly aquired BBS style 29's with fresh Dunlop rubber. Can we say SWEET.

528e- nothing..its at the airport

533- started to clean and degrease under the hood. Cleaned a few grounds, repaired a few poorly spliced wires.
Cleaned up intermittant fog light. Pulled the drivers side panel down and cleaned the headkight and foglight swirch assemblies. Went ahead and hotsoaked with Seafoam since the VAC line for the cabin sensor was staring me in the face.
Repaired/cleaned interior dome light switch. Discovered split in the muffler. Confirmed the compressor clutch and aux fan work...they do.

Bought a tool bag for the trunk and put $100 worth of tools and volt-meter in it.

Wiped down the rubber bumper moulding with conditioner to try to salvage it from dryness.

Removed the two license plate lights and found they have some rust....that needs to be fixed.

Purchased a new fan clutch, Conti belt set, thermostat, and HD 750 UCA's from Autohausaz.

That is all.
