I wish there was a MyE28 iPhone App...

Post by BMWgiant »

Does anybody have the skill to make one? I would use it every day! Either a MyE28 App or just a way to make a simpler functioning website for use on the cell phones... It's a just a thought.. I know I'm not the only one that would find that convenient!

I've fooled around with Apple's SDK before, but I'm not sure anyone could improve on the web interface. There's really not much to be done...

So there's an app for apps?

I actually don't have an iPhone or an iPad, I just stole that one in the pic from a co-worker's desk to make a quick phone call.

There's an app for that. It's called Safari.

My experience with apps for regular websites is that they suck. Something or other will be left out in an effort to 'streamline' or make it 'more accessible'. Even when I had a Centro, using the browser to access the page directly was usually the best way to go. It certainly is with WebOS on the Pre.

I really don't care for mobile sites as they make things more difficult to follow. I just turn off the avatars and signatures.

You obviously haven't used a properly designed mobile site on a mobile device. I am not talking about laptops. I am talking about blackberries, Symbian OS devices, Android devices and iPhones.

I'm replying to your assumption of my lack of knowledge on my Motorola Droid, which uses the Android operating system and defaults to the mobile version of every website if one is available. I do not care for it at all. The only thing that works poorly for me on mye28.com is the Savebox.

I know the difference between a laptop and a "mobile device."

You can change that via the settings menu in the browser.

I have seen folks posting on other forums with a tag line that says "posted from my phone **************I'm too dumb to turn off this annoying signature**************". i googled it, and it is a forum app for both the iPhone and Android, and is free as an add-in for the forum moderators. It might be worth looking into.

Mods?

Tapatalk is not all that great, bimmerforums supports it and its not all that user friendly. I prefer just seeing the real page and scaling it.

There's an app for making apps, yes. My friend and I stumbled on it the other day. We also found a free game called OW MY BALLS. You kick a guy, in his manhood, off of a roof and try to hit as many things with your crotch as possible. fall on cans of beans to gain fart propulsion to keep you off the ground.

THIS makes it through the app approval process? Those Apple dudes are damn weird.

On another note, I believe that anything that slows or prevents Blake from posting every random thought or question that enters his head is a good thing.

I wish there was an app to hit Steve Jobs in the face...

OR an app to make the iPhone jump up and hit it's user in the face.

Did anyone investigate tapatalk. I use it for thunder row and it's great, easy to use, fantastic for small form factors like a smart phone. The admins at thunder row said that the install of the server software was very easy and painless and the support was great.
If tapatalk was available for mye28 then this would make a great forum even better.
