Fan Clutch Removal Tool Set

Post by quaddawg »

Hey guys.. sorry my first post is a "for sale" post.. I am an active member on other Bimmer forums, and someone suggested I post these here...

Just made a set for myself this evening, and it turned out pretty well, so I thought I would offer them to other enthusiasts in order to help save some money, and make things easier.

I see Bav Auto selling these for $40 for the holder and $35 for the wrench...

I will do them for $20 each, or $35 plus shipping for a set.

Custom initials or a short word would cost $10 extra per tool as it takes a bit of time to set it up.

NO logo or my shop initials (SMS=Stanford MotorSports) available at the same price, $35 a set.

fits M10,M20,M30,M50, wrench is 32mm of course, and fits other engines

I am constantly fiddling with my parts/tool designs, so the appearance may vary from above, the wrench however will look like the top picture, or without the "SMS"

email me at stanfordmotorsports@fuse.net with any interest.

I have finished everyones order that has paid.

They will ship tomorrow.

I have one more set ready to ship, and a couple that are almost ready if anyone else is interested.

Here is the final design of the pulley holder, these wrenches have rubber coated handles, non slip.

The rest of the first batch will get this at no extra charge, but I may have to upcharge in the future for this, as it costs me about $3.00 for the rubber coating material

Heck yes. I ordered a set and wonder why everyone else wouldn't order one too. Heck of a deal, and how many times do you grab your 32mm wrench and the damned water pump pulley just spins when you whack it?

Hello there. I don't think I have an email from you, but I do have 3 sets left from the first batch.

If you would like one, shoot me an email at stanfordmotorsports@fuse.net, or just pop off a PayPal payment to the same email addy.. (if you use it)

I am charging $7.00 for priority mail, as long as you aren't in Alaska or Hawaii! haha!! So it's $42.00 a set delivered for now, I do end up eating some shipping cost on many of them.

Let me know, I will be happy to ship tomorrow for orders paid for by about 9am EST.

Thanks again to everyone that has ordered and paid!

By the way, I can cut custom stuff too!

Maybe I will make a big Roundel! (BMW might sue me!)

Once again, all paid orders have been shipped.

I have two sets ready to go, and can cut about 3 more sets without having to go get more steel...

Not sure if I will get more steel this week, so if anyone wants them, but hasn't paid, this would be a good time to give me a shout.

Hey guys. Everyone that has ordered and paid has been shipped (again...THANKS!)

I do have a few folks that said they wanted a set, and that they were sending funds that haven't actually paid...

No rush, don't mean to bug, but I have enough steel to cut about 2-3 more sets... I will probably take a break after I finish these last sets..

so... if you REALLY want a set, email me now, and I will set up a paypal payment for you.

(note: if the demand stays this strong, I will buy more steel and keep cutting, I just don't want to invest in a whole sheet of steel and cut one set from them, this is a thickness I don't usually keep in stock for my other items I cut)

That'll ship for $7.00, so a total of $42.00

However, they will have to ship on Friday, as I am out of steel now, and can't get to the supply house until tomorrow.

Let me know if you want them!

I will get enough steel to cut at least another 10 sets..

Great! Thanks for the note!

I went ahead and went to the supply house to buy some steel.

I have three more sets ready to ship tomorrow.

As far as the folks I have already been in contact with: First come (first paypal in) first shipped.

To everyone else beyond the three I have ready to ship. (not counting any that have already been paid for... they are all packed and either shipped or are going out tomorrow am)

I have enough steel for about 7 more sets, but I need to get a couple of supplies for my machine, so the next possible ship date (beyond the three I have ready for tomorrow) is probably Monday.

That's good news! I was worried a LITTLE bit about extremely stuck nuts, since these are not forged, but "bicycle" style.

I WILL warrant them against spreading.. I can't control abuse, or correct use, but be honest with me, and I will try to make it right. Can't cover shipping, but if you have one that REALLY messes up, let me know and I will see what I can do. Maybe cut some out of heavier steel, with a heavier pattern around the head.. but to be honest, I am betting these will be just fine for 99% of the fan nuts.

Hey guys, I have to go out of town on a business trip for a few days.

I will cut a few more when I get back. So please, unless you don't mind waiting a few days, don't send money until I post that I have more ready to ship.

Thanks to everyone that ordered up to now.

I should be ready to ship by Thursday or Friday of the upcoming week.

PS. Everyone that has paid, HAS shipped!

I will have to say that this set of tools is pretty ingenious and nifty. That said though, I bought an actual 32mm forged steel wrench at Harbor Freight for about half of the cost of this set.

I know I will get flamed for this post probably, but not all of us e28 owners have $$ falling out the trunk of our e28s if you catch my drift ;)

True and everyone knows this, but if you have a really stuck on clutch or anything just a wrench doesn't always do the trick but if you have this set you can get some serious torque on it
