You cannot make another post so soon after your last

Post by wkohler »

You cannot make another post so soon after your last; please try again in a short while.

I'm very tired of seeing that every time I go back to edit a post and submit the correction or addition.

Seriously. It never used to do this. I have to sit and wait 30 seconds or so just because I forgot a period or remembered how to insult someone.

Any way to drop this thing for editing a post?

DAMNIT! It's doing it to me now!

Thank you! I am sick of this, too. I try to fix my misspellings and whatever and am greeted with this. At least make the cutoff time shorter!

X2

I try to be perfect with my grammar and such, but sometimes pull the trigger before fully re-reading my post. This wait time is really irritating.

I agree with all the above.

It seems like this was put in place a while back and it caused problems then too. Making the time shorter would be helpful. At least add a countdown timer (seen it on other forums) instead of just saying "a short while".

One problem we're having is people posting from crappy phone browsers that double, triple, and even quadruple post. The only way to combat this is to increase the flood interval, which I just reduced slightly.

Cleaning up duplicate postings is a hassle. Wait out the timer, it's less than 20 seconds. Or learn to use the Preview button, that's what it's there for.

I apprecaite the reduction in flood interval. I've been able to edit my posts without issue a few times now.

Yes, thanks! I try to use the preview, but sometime I get carried away, or worse, hit it and miss something.

I use preview. I usually forget to ad something and realize it during that period where I think about how great I am that I came up with what I just posted.

Thanks for the adjustment. I've been guilty of the triple posting with my phone.

Ha! You admit what we all feel when the euphoria hits and you rush to hit submit on that zinger.... like the wonderful contribution to every collision damage thread "that'll buff right out".

You forgot to go back and "add" another "d" to your "ad", or maybe you just got sick of waiting for the >20 timer to run out so you could edit it.

Same here. It's a minor inconvenience in the overall scheme of things. I just wait 10-15 seconds after the message and resend. Never had to wait a second time.

Haha! Love how it says, "Hold your horses! You were about to make a double post!"

That just redeemed this system! Love it!

How about no editing at all. I get pissed when I don't quote someone's comment then post then realize the above post was changed. Guess I just need to always use quotes for everything.
