Washed it, dried it, put rainx on the windows. I have had to suffer this week and drive the 535i because the 318i will not start, what a shame.

Took it to get an estimate to re-install the original decklid spoiler (the rubber one). $104.00. Might do it.

Cleaned wheel wells. Ziebarted at one time, did not feel like cleaning off and starting over, so prepped and resprayed undercoating - SEM good stuff. Looks great. Installed springs and wheels. Confirmed my shock thoughts - Billie Sports! all around, M5 Swaybar!!! 750 control arm bushings......WOW awesome purchase from PO who had no idea what he had. Sweet, ride. Incredible at 90mph plus. Wheels are a dream. Smooth, no shakes almost no weight to balance (only one wheel took 1.25, all others .25 to .5!!)

Love the new Alpine. Getting closer!!!

See eyecandy pics this weekend. -Rob

Fixed my ATF leak (I hope)

Tried to replace some bulbs but lost a few screws in the process.

Then I drove it home wishing I never bought it

Yesterday:
Replaced the front part of the headliner panel, sun visors, and check panel
Correctly synced my sunroof motor so it will open and close like its supposed to
Installed my maplight rearview mirror (need to refigure the wiring though...it's too dim off the power wire I chose to connect)

Today:
Replaced my windshield wiper and cruise control levers and cruise control computer, tightened up all the behind-the-knee-bolster connections. Now cruise control works again!

Thursday night, put on the track tires and got the car ready for Friday.

Friday, went to Road America to instruct with SCCA/March of Dimes' "Drive for Babies" event. Rode right seat in some very indifferently-driven high-priced machinery, including a couple of new Corvettes and a silver-over-red Z8. Rode with a couple of BMW-driving novices who didn't do badly, but still got passed on the inside of 12 by Peter Cunningham in the Realtime Racing Acura, selling thrill rides. Got a session in riding with former E28er Mark from Madison and took him for a half dozen laps in the Kelvinator. Actually got it a little sideways in Five. Later, had dinner at the same table with P.D. & Boris Said. Helped raise over $75K for the day.

Today, took the track tires back off. Been a good weekend so far.

Installed new to me dash...about a 98%'er. Looks awesome. Car is just so nice. Dash was easy except for getting duct work back in. Spent most of my time cleaning up a/c box and fixing broke flapper valves for heat/ac and that pesky fresh air valve that loses the screw. 100% Climate control and new dash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :alright:

Got the Piggy running again after 2 months of it not moving. Got it beached on a speedbump, did some burnouts, and then parked it. Good times.

It's also beginning to offset it's own carbon emissions

Got my euro headlights in and wired up! Loving the 4 watt (5watt) lamps for daytime. Unlike most folks I wired them to run with the ignition (always). Also running inner and outer high beams. I hear differing opinions on that here (surprising) but I think I am going to like the light.

Took out my high beams for a 2002 look or something. I may mess around with red light behind the grill with the high beam wiring. Kind of like a furnace for an engine look.

oil pan

Post by knunger »

Replaced oil pan. A friend of a friend (a pro welder) fixed my crack for a 30 pack of Miller Lite.

We drank 12 of them while doing the job.

Never watched inert gas welding of aluminum before. Interesting stuff...

Do you have wheels from an e39? If so...hub centric rings solved my 55mph vibration.

Yesterday:
Got up early, washed the car and drove to Prescott, where it was promptly rained on for hours. Drove home and washed it.

Today:
Drove to work in the rain.

I've got a set of style 5's that are a from an E38 I gather, but they are currently sitting in my garage, not mounted.

It's sitting on ramps waiting to have the new-used Ansa exhaust installed and M1.3 finished up.

Got a call my mechanic today. They did a full test on my brake system and reported that everything is working as it should. Rear brakes are at 95% front are at 50%. They also reported that my front suspension and steering components are all in great shape and there is no play and I do not need an alignment. He told me that the vibration I feel is a tire out of balance. Other than that, the car is in great shape! :D

Got her back from the shop. All majors issues have been solved and I am leak free, and in tip top shape.

Tomorrow, I am going to install some new light bulbs, fix one last door seal, refit my kick panel and try to solve my OBC problems.

I also took it to discount tire today for a routine tire balancing/rotation, only after waiting an hour, they said they couldn't do it because they lacked a 17MM thin will socket with a1/2" drive.

What the fuck is that about?

That's about you buying tires from morons ...

You don't need a thin wall socket for E28 wheels.
