Cleaned wheel wells. Ziebarted at one time, did not feel like cleaning off and starting over, so prepped and resprayed undercoating - SEM good stuff. Looks great. Installed springs and wheels. Confirmed my shock thoughts - Billie Sports! all around, M5 Swaybar!!! 750 control arm bushings......WOW awesome purchase from PO who had no idea what he had. Sweet, ride. Incredible at 90mph plus. Wheels are a dream. Smooth, no shakes almost no weight to balance (only one wheel took 1.25, all others .25 to .5!!)
Love the new Alpine. Getting closer!!!
See eyecandy pics this weekend. -Rob

Yesterday:
Replaced the front part of the headliner panel, sun visors, and check panel
Correctly synced my sunroof motor so it will open and close like its supposed to
Installed my maplight rearview mirror (need to refigure the wiring though...it's too dim off the power wire I chose to connect)
Today:
Replaced my windshield wiper and cruise control levers and cruise control computer, tightened up all the behind-the-knee-bolster connections. Now cruise control works again!

Thursday night, put on the track tires and got the car ready for Friday.
Friday, went to Road America to instruct with SCCA/March of Dimes' "Drive for Babies" event. Rode right seat in some very indifferently-driven high-priced machinery, including a couple of new Corvettes and a silver-over-red Z8. Rode with a couple of BMW-driving novices who didn't do badly, but still got passed on the inside of 12 by Peter Cunningham in the Realtime Racing Acura, selling thrill rides. Got a session in riding with former E28er Mark from Madison and took him for a half dozen laps in the Kelvinator. Actually got it a little sideways in Five. Later, had dinner at the same table with P.D. & Boris Said. Helped raise over $75K for the day.
Today, took the track tires back off. Been a good weekend so far.

Installed new to me dash...about a 98%'er. Looks awesome. Car is just so nice. Dash was easy except for getting duct work back in. Spent most of my time cleaning up a/c box and fixing broke flapper valves for heat/ac and that pesky fresh air valve that loses the screw. 100% Climate control and new dash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've got a set of style 5's that are a from an E38 I gather, but they are currently sitting in my garage, not mounted.ilikemybike wrote:Do you have wheels from an e39? Got a call my mechanic today. They did a full test on my brake system and reported that everything is working as it should. Rear brakes are at 95% front are at 50%. They also reported that my front suspension and steering components are all in great shape and there is no play and I do not need an alignment. He told me that the vibration I feel is a tire out of balance. Other than that, the car is in great shape!
Got her back from the shop. All majors issues have been solved and I am leak free, and in tip top shape.
Tomorrow, I am going to install some new light bulbs, fix one last door seal, refit my kick panel and try to solve my OBC problems.
I also took it to discount tire today for a routine tire balancing/rotation, only after waiting an hour, they said they couldn't do it because they lacked a 17MM thin will socket with a1/2" drive.
What the fuck is that about?

You don't need a thin wall socket for E28 wheels.
