A rust free example bites the dust.

Man, this is like a bad dream. :bawl:
No one was hurt, is one of the good things.
I'm afraid if the same force had been applied to the front end that wouldn't have been the case.

Hopefully I'll get in before dark tomorrow and be able to take some pics to post,
because :pics!: .

And this one won't buff out...

The weather in the Houston area was crappy yesterday, light rain over most of the area.

My WAG based on Sherman's brief message is he was tagged in the rear end by some numbskull driving too fast in a SUV or PU truck. I'll also speculate that excessive speed, following too closely, and weather all played a part in Sherman's latest adventure. For some reason many Houston drivers believe rain doesn't have a negative impact on tire adhesion. When it rains in Houston, the number of traffic accidents seems to rise exponentially.

Ours was the only vehicle involved, another blessing.
I was traveling east on Spring Cypress, had just gone through the light at Champions Forest,
after running up the RPM in second and shifting into 3rd at about 40 MPH, she broke loose, did a 180,
skidded across the easement on the right and bounced off the sign at the last entrance into the Kroger based strip center.

100% my fault.

Pics are coming...

Ouch, right near my Hacienda as well. I think I'd rather be rear ended, particularly by a well off Soccer Mom from Champions , Memorial NW, or one of those $1M dollar homes in Gleannloch Farms.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but glad to hear you're OK.

Sorry for your loss, glad to hear you were able to walk away without physical injury...

These Houston roads are paved with extremely large filler material and they become a sheet of ice when it rains. Not to mention the massive amounts of oil that gets dropped onto the running surface by all the cars in disrepair...

I just saw the damage for myself. I walked around the corner of the yard and almost started crying, seriously! When I saw the damage, two questions popped into my mind. First, was Sherman ok, and how was he able to go to work today? Second, why did Union Pacific Railways suddenly take a right turn!

It is truly a sad day. One of the nicest e28's on the gulf coast. RIP little e28. You will be missed :bawl:
