Here's a few I took. I wish I would have given the camera to my copilot for some driving shots but this is all I've got.

I had a Great time Sherman. it was good to see you again and meet new folks and see the guys behind the keyboards.

Psst, Do me a favor and don't tell anybody about that woman I was getting the dirty looks from for for holding her up on the canyon drive, M'kay?

Next time I allow one more day of time!

Sherman looked good going across a very busy intersection sideways, tires smoking in protest as he demonstrated his M5's tire reduction capabilities.

Well, you see your Honor it was like this:

The group was driving down the highway about 8:00am, on Sunday. There was no traffic, there was a L O N G straight stretch. We were just puttering along when I hear this Waaaa-r-i-n-g and an E30 zips by with a pronounced whine. All the sudden everyone starts going faster, a lot faster!

Well, your Honor since I'm not from these parts, I have no idea where I am so I HAVE to keep up!

Anyway, after a few seconds I smell coolant! and think "Oh Shit! ...I have a..." Then there coolant on my windshield, lots of it! Then I notice there's a car on fire and smoking up ahead! Wait it's not smoke it's steam! He's not going so fast anymore either. Uh Oh, is this what I think it is? It sure is, it's the infamous blown head gasket.

Sherman saved the day buy towing him to a Sausage Factory (And apt name for this particular day of Testosterone poisoning) parking lot.

Anyway that's my story your Honor and I'm sticking to it.

I told the young man to stop by here and read the FI section for some ideas on how to prevent more coolant leaks on my windshield.

Yeah we had fun!

That was funny Randy, I think I even saw Mike chuckle a bit.

My pics pretty much suck, but here's the link to my pics, just in case.

Damn dude... Looks like a solid turnout and eventful journey all around. Pretty bummed I missed out...

The e28 was pissed it didn't get to go... So she returned the favor by deciding to crack the clutch pedal bracket on Saturday. Karma's a bitch...

Sounds like you guys had way too much fun. I'll get to hang with y'all at some point. Guaranteed. Hopefully I'll get around my work schedule and Cindy's schedule and we'll be able to get out of town now.

Gotta replace some underbody plastic thanks to the slip-n-slide neighborhood roads this past week. And more to come... Yippee!

Anyway keep up the great work providing good times for everyone.

Wow, looks like I missed a god time. Sorry, it was just not in the cards with all the weather we had in Dallas over the past week. My car stayed tucked in the garage all week long and I bombed through the snow in the 'Burban. By the weekend, my wife had serious cabin fever and demanded I get her out and about town.

Post all the pics you can. looking forward to the next one....

Sherm, how is the new Touring going?

It's been cleaned up, but then the freeze hit, and it's just sat as I finished prepping the ///M5 for this trip.
Hopefully Friday I can brave the 53° chill and get the few little misc BS things, ie. fuel cap door hinge replaced, etc., finished up and get the title transferred and get wifey out of that 12 MPG city Jeep.

You heard the man, guys...
Let's get them pics posted so we can put this thing away and begin working on the next one.

I want to go back and spend about a half a day driving Lime Rock Creek backwards and forwards.
Eat lunch, and then do it again.
This was our original planned drive to lunch, but because of our late arrival, the hunger pains took over and demanded some satisfaction.
Oh well, all for another day or weekend...

It was my first cruise and it was awesome! I wanted to say thank you to all of you that waited for "mickey mouse" to catch up. Everyone was cool, and I was surprised in how many of you were actually interested in the car. Thanks memo for inviting me, and I'm looking forward to the next one. But time to replace the carrier bearing on the driveshaft I blew out on the trip, fix the fuel pump issue, and start to install the turbo.

Andrew,
It was good meeting you and the little woman, and "mickey mouse".
I had to  everytime you hit those light on the way home.
It didn't matter whether you were in front or back, it was just too cool.
I'm still pissed about that "Best Beater Award" though. ;)

Speaking of the BBA, who were the rest of the winners and where are those pics?

it was great meeting other people that drive e28's, i dont know anyone else outside of you guys. i guess showing up with a crappy car pays off  my dad and a few guys at my job actually call the car mickey mouse and the safari mobile. we actually used those lights almost all the way home on 105 where the roads were pitch black. they help out a lot, especially for deer that are a mile away

Thanks you everyone who joined and participated in the events. It was one to remember, for sure!
I had a great time, I just wish we could've done Lime Creek again.

Awesome transformation dude

And, apparently, while I stopped for a potty break on the side of the road, Andrew & Kat could not wait!
Next time, just clean up the evidence you two :pimp:

Sherman, your interior looks very, very nice. I llike the two-tone touch you put into it.
BTW, can anyone spot Sherman in this pic?
Image

Luis, my buddy Brooks was drooling over the exhaust note in your car everytime he heard it!
YOU'RE WELCOME :D

Jim, as always, you are awesome at finding "the road less traveled" Great Job!

Every car in attendance has its own unique way of catching your attention. Aside from the friendships made, that is the best part of our hobby.

So......................
When are we going back to Lime Creek Rd?

Hey guys, just thought I'd register real quick and let you all know that I had a friggin blast. I've never really gotten into the older BMWs and I must say I've gained a good appreciation for them. Im in for the next drive, I'll be bringing the white buffalo (if that's acceptable).

Also, you're welcome for these photos, Memo...

We put up with a "black buffalo", or whatever that was, this time,
and we've put up with worse, a Subaru Wagon something, before, so we can deal with it.
We're a tolerant bunch, and politically correct too, occasionally.
