A couple of updates;
#1 - I got the Allstate settlement in the mail today.
Seems I misunderstood the Total Loss Dept. rep when I agreed to the settlement.
I'm sure I was told they were valuing the car at $3,000.00.
The reality is, that the total settlement, value placed on the car, was $3,603.40
with a salvage buy-back of $103.40. 
That made me
when I opened the envelope.
Off to the bank tomorrow where I'll let the money set for a few days before forwarding to our mortgage company.
Come the end of this year, we'll be walking on our paid for grass. That feeling should really bring a to anybody's face.
Good does come out of even the things that hurt. (I knew this already, from experience, not just faith)

But, as to them hanging above the fireplace, she said, "not just no, but, HELL NO".

Look closer and you'll see the u-joint is flexed to accommodate the upward bend in the rear end.
The entire rear frame/body is bent upwards all the way to the tweaked roof.
I cut away the rear left quarter panel where it was rubbing against the left rear wheel.
The car will actually move under its own power.
I told another forum member I was considering putting it back on the road with "This BMW saved my life" painted on the doors.
