What did you do to your E28 today?
after finding that my SI cluster board was badly damaged from the batteries i ordered a cluster off of ebay for $35. i though for sure i was gonna get one that was in the same or close to the same condition as mine. i got lucky (which never happens to me) cluster came today. i opened it to inspect the batteries/replace them if necessarry before installing the cluster. this cluster already had the SI board replaced with a battery-less board! took my odometer out of my original replaced the gears and swapped into new cluster and have a fully working cluster! nothing worse than having no gas gauge and no odometer to at least guesstimate when its time to gas up again.

Tomorrow I will be getting a fuel filter (maybe a pump) and welding my open diff because I don't know how long my LSD will last. Will finish dissecting my car.
Today:
Gutted my trunk (that thing under the spare tire weighs like 30 pounds)
Pulled the door panels
Removed the back seat
Learned that my fuel filter may be bad, or the fuel pump . . . I hope it's the filter

Finally got the radio in Marina's car to take its code. I freed up the sticky brakes in 3 of the parts cars and shifted them out of the way. I'm gonna cut down a poplar and erect a 10 x 24 temporary garage to store the parts 88 and what ever I harvest from the other 4 cars. My body is sore from all the work, good thing I can rest up at work.

Did a bit more to the 5er last night. Lipoed the rear bumper just a bit; about an inch and change.
I managed to completely drain the battery. So that either happened when I was replacing the exterior door latches or there's a system drain somewhere.
One of the rear rotors was pulled to either get resurfaced or new ones installed.
I also found out why the car road like a bouncy room ... one of the rear shocks is completely blown. There is shock oil all over the rear linkage. New suspension.

Last week my car got new Bilsteins, slave cylinder, e30 sport seats, a Leatherique treatment and a little rust repaired.
I also decided it was time to completely strip the parts car and take it to the scrapyard:
I would highly suggest turning the car on its side to strip the suspension...

Let my 17 year old son drive it to school.
His sister is back now, so she's got her Honda back, and he needs something to drive.

Today I installed my Miller WAR ecu. scalded dog raped ape or any other analogies that mean sudden performance. I can hardly wait to get new exhaust on her to free up even more power.
Before anyone says it I know compared to a "Good" factory exhaust aftermarket stuff will gain little. Mine is FAR from good the CALI catalyst is dead and the pipes are all muffler shop crap from there back.
My plan is a 3" 100cell cat splitting to meet the stock flanges and from there back a bolt in cat back system.

What do you mean by "Cali" style converter? I'm pretty sure all e28s got the same exhausts in the US. They were 50 state cara by that point.philip1 wrote:I'm in NC but for so e reason this car has a Cali style converter nbd it's gone as soon as I get the $$ together to build a proper exhaust be it a pre made cat back or all custom...
Oh just changed the plugs too. Smooth idle
