This weekend:
88- rear brakes, fix seat nets, replace idler arm, again. , water pump (makes noise I think) and hoses. general inspection
87- fog light install, general inspection, trace down rattling noise under car (prolly heat shield). Clean the crevices nice and purty (trunk area, underhood crevices, etc).

I've been ignoring a subtle driveline rumble for almost a week now. It's come to the point where I need to jack it up and find out what's going on. The guibo's new, so I'm thinking CSB or (please no) a driveshaft u-joint.
Eventually, I'll run out of stuff to go wrong, and then the car will work perfectly

The M5 got some much needed attention today:
All new cooling hoses, thermostat, and waterpump
Replaced both ICV lines and all vacuum lines in the engine bay.
Put in the front Spax shocks with 6" 350lb. springs, replacing the koni yellows and 7" 650lb. springs.
Ended up putting 15mm spacers on the front wheels to bring them closer to the fender.
Rear comes down tomorrow, as well as getting a new 3.73lsd and these:

replaced plugs....and performed underwash

Pulled fuel rail and injectors, flushed injectors with carb cleaner via pirated plastic nozzle from caulking gun tube of roof goop for the tight fit against injector o-ring, drilled tiny hole in the other end to fit carb cleaner nozzle extension, and a 9V spare battery for my multimeter, rigged to a dashboard type starter button switch and a couple of alligator clips [one wrapped in tape to prevent shorting] to the injector terminals [a junk-yard harness injector plug would have been invaluable here]. I reverse flushed first, and then switched around to flush out the injector nozzle in the normal direction of flow. WOW!!!
One injector was almost plugged solid, An increase in pressure from carb cleaner can and repeated cycling of button switch eventually caused a blob of black goop to come back up the feed orifice of injector and soon thereafter flow free and clean. Excellent spray pattern from injector upon reversal and flushing the injector nozzle, tip, pintle, whatever.
Speaking of replacement pintle, I added a wee bit of chamfer to the new pintle to better match the style of the original 533i pintles. I used the small 9V battery due to the low impedance and 'peak and hold' varietal of these injectors to prevent burning the coils, and my ignorance of more in-depth knowledge about these things.
Total cost: The price of NAPA injector kits X 6, about $30 after tax here in Canada and $1.29 for the alligator clips. I already had the carb cleaner gathering dust on a shelf, as well as the battery, the starter switch and the now circumsized tube of roof goop. My injectors now have fabulous forespray!
All in all an economical and efficient way to clean injectors. I highly recomend the reverse flush first if anyone tries this. Whether the carb cleaner is harmful to the longevity of the injector? I doubt it. Time will tell that story, and nothing else.
Tomorrow: we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
Here's a video, not mine, that inspired me to clean my 533i injectors:

About three weeks ago I parked the ix, gave the 535 a bath and have been driving it everyday since. I'm starting to compile my mental list of "things that need tinkering". I seem to have an issue with over glamorizing the car I'm not driving while noticing every little flaw with the car I'm using as my main driver. Then when I switch back I start over again.
