Why dont we have a live chat on this site?

Post by Brian in TN »

I know alot of the info wont be saved to read later, but it would be stupid fun. Like a virtual garage party.

What does it take to make this happen? What do you guys think?

I don't think there is enough anti-venom available to treat such a disaster!

You can host tinychat.com chat sessions whenever. Like poker night minus the poker and add the unnecessary insults.

Sounds good to me. I have it at work and like it. Lets have Jeremy set it up...hopefully its not his "time of the month" or he will probably put the Neg on us..

Because every time you touch yourself, God kills a baby chicken. Do you know how many baby chickens it takes to implement a live chat here?!?

:(

I've always sort of liked the idea. It'd be quite a bit less formal, so I think maybe newbies would be more accepted, they could ask stupid questions without their sense of self worth being completely destroyed.

In practice, I fear it could possibly go the other way, but you never know till you try. :dunno:

What about a MyE28 Facebook group? It's got chat built into it. We have a group for PDX E28 and it works good.

Well, yeah. I think in a less formal environment it'd be much more acceptable to ask stupid questions with less caution. I agree that this is a double edged sword and it could go the other way, but I really think that it could be worth a shot.

Of course this is all irrelevant unless we can convince Brian to abstain from masturbation...

I used to run an IRC chat channel for IFSJA.org

The same thing could be done here with a web-based IRC client so people unfamiliar with it can get on easily.

That's true. There's integral chat there. I don't recall who set it up or if it's 'secret', but that would certainly keep the riffraff out.
