What did you do to your E28 today?

Guess I should really make an intro thread soon, but this'll work for a start.
My recently acquired 535i had a bit of the rod knock, so I figured there was no harm in just throwing in some rod bearings before getting too crazy (read=expensive).
Well, #1 and #6 were pretty bad, but absolutely no scoring of the crank. After she was fired up, no more noise! (Hopefully it'll stay that way for a while)
I was pretty happy, mainly because it was a 10 hour torture fest on my back. If that pan ever has to come off again, I swear the engine's just gonna come out!
Now I can actually start driving this thing (instead of just cleaning the interior and looking at it longingly) and sort out any more problems that arise. And they will. We bought my wife an '03 325Ci, so I'm getting to know BMW's
