Tex-Fest LSB&F III - October 21-22-23, 2011

Post by 1st 5er »

Put it on your calendar:
October 21-22-23, 2011

Location: Texas Hill Country

More info will follow as it develops.

Previous years:
2009
2010
A special Winter Meet

Here's more details.
We've changed the location because the Rockdale Fair and Rodeo is calendared for our weekend.

We'll be home-basing in Blanco.

There are two small Motels in Blanco that should be able to accommodate our group.
The Host Motel will be the Blanco County Inn.
Deborah, the owner, has agreed to hold all remaining rooms through August for us to register at $73.00 per night plus taxes.
This rate is for a two night reservation, one night reservations will pay the regular rates.
Mention "BMW" to get this rate when calling 830-833-4502.
Here's what's available, so depending on your needs/wants, waiting may not be the best option.
1 room with a full kitchen and queen bed.
1 suite with a queen bed and sofa.
1 room with a king bed.
3 rooms with two queen beds.
3 rooms with a full size bed.
She has a 48 hour cancellation policy w/o fees.
If you have to cancel please post it on here so someone else can get the room if needed.

OK, on to the second option.
It is only 3 blocks away and is the Swiss Lodge, 830-833-5528.
Joe's rate of $70.00 per night will be honored if you mention "BMW".

There is a third option, Blanco Luxury Suites, if you need super nice and want to pay $120.00 +/- a night (NO special "BMW" discount offered).

Get the phone calls made for your reservation and get the word out on the other boards.

Thanks and see ya' in Blanco.

P.S. Be ready to roll... :haul: ... when you get there. ;)

Just got an email from another DFW guy who should be able to make it.

Looks like we'll be ordering Red Carpet this year instead of T-Shirts. ;)

P.S.
Snob is now doing the DD thing, with a/c. :thanks:

I have the Petit Le Mans and Oktoberfest, one and two weeks prior.

That's great! I was just thinking about Snob after reading the car name thread. ;)

And I'll post it to the DFW maillist and see if anyone else can make it. Maybe we can get a group to run down there together.

Sorry to hear that about Snob.

We can get together and make plans when things get closer. Sounds like fun.

Hey, that hurts my feelings :bawl:

Can't wait for this! I'm doing some tweaks to the car to make sure I don't need anymore fuses :|

I'm a few beers in, so I should come up with this years logo/shirt design soon (isn't that right Sherman?!!!!!)
Stay tuned...

Lodging info for reservations is coming soon, and based on availability, will need to be acted on rather quickly.

"Sips", if this is them, no problem.
Our dates are, October 21 - 22 - 23.
And on top of that, the Three Sisters offer much more exciting entertainment.

Sips = the God foresaken school full of hippies, gays and communists (and some gay hippie communists) in Austin that is going to go at best 7-5 in football this year.

They have an off weekend that weekend so we're golden.

Saturday afternoon we'll need to find a bar to watch Texas A&M surgically dismantle Iowa State 45-17.

We'll be a bit distanced from that playground, playing to a different tune, . :haul: ,
and I don't think the three sisters we'll be visiting have a TV, best bring your smartphone.

That's the plan.
That's why the second and third option.

The rooms at The Host Motel, Blanco County Inn are being held for us,
but reservations must be in before the end of August to guarantee availability and pricing, with the mention of "BMW".

The second option, the Swiss Lodge would not hold rooms without a reservation,
but would guarantee the rate with the mention of "BMW".

That's why the urgency noted to get reservations in early.

The third option, which I kinda sorta hope no one has to use, was somewhat turdish when I called requesting info. :moon:

:haul: to Blanco and beyond...

Thanks for those posts Memo, and the logo design.

And, yes, it's gonna be a :haul: good weekend.

Working on pre-registration stuff so we can save you some time upon arrival.
More details on this as it develops.

A FYI - Motel check-in time is 2:00 PM.
I'm hoping to be there very close to that.

Friday night we'll just be hanging out on the Host Motel's Deck watching the Bimmers rolling in while enjoying a cool Hill Country evening.
So, if you are a late registerer
and aren't staying at the Blanco County Inn,
after you get checked in to your room be sure and come down and join us.

Did somebody say, "it is going to be a helluva weekend!!!!! :ohyeah: "?
