Brimmed each cylinder with Marvel's Mystery Oil and said a quiet prayer to the oil gods. Also put the other m20 on the engine stand and started stripping the accessories, you know, just in case.

Turns out when I replaced the a/c compressor with the known good one
that the lower hose was rubbing on the clutch.
It didn't matter with the old unit that had the bad clutch that didn't have a belt.
Oh well, it was a good excuse to replace the thermostat.
Beat the heck out of the water pump replacement job that I had prepared for.

Snob and I may get along after all. :D

I did something extremely similar when I put in a new radiator, including new rubber hose, but missing a lower radiator rubber cradle bushing.

Broke an engine mount (stock but new ) :|
I guess a 280 approx HP m30 in an otherwise stock e28 (alot of axle tramp from old stock suspension) just isnt wise, but it is fun.

Yesterday, cleaned and painted a set of e32 brakes I bought off Tyler Small over 3 years ago.

This morning, installed said brakes on the newly acquired 535is (big improvement, btw) . My eight year old did an exceptional job helping me bleed them.

This afternoon, loaded up said e28 and went camping with the kids and dog.

Mmmmmm...smores. :D

Wth am I doing on the internetz right now anyway? This update could've waited!

Did they really do away with the Rocket Widget in the Guinness bottles?

As for the e28, pulled the side mirrors off, sanded them down a bit and gave them a fresh coat of paint. Black, as God intended them to be.

Drove it... from Loveland CO to Grand Lake CO over Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mtn National Park. Summit crossing the continental divide is 12,183 feet. Great drive!

Well the past few days...

Cleaned the headliner and interior in general. Ran some Seafoam through the FPR line...and had the car washed thoroughly...

After I get back from Jamaica there will be rust work, fender replacement, leatherique treatment for the the seats...and some other fun...

And at some point a new radio install...

needed new tires. instead of paying $600-$800 for new tires on my old 15" prime wheels, found 17" hockenheims with 80-90% tread for $400. :alright:
