Hey Jeremy thanks for getting back to me.

Great to see some young blood interested in the car.
I will ad you to my list of black interior M5's.

My friend Phil Conrad lives in Long Beach and has an M5 and is very knowledagble about these cars. He is on the board here as Philo. I'm sure he would be glad to help with any questions you might have.
Look forward to some pix when you get a chance.

If you haven't already please register on the M Registry.
There is a section for the E28's. Great source of info about the car.

Have a great Holiday.

A stunning looking example - and a rare beauty indeed, judging by the number of owner responses to this thread so far.

Hey Jeff,

RE: Jeff Dutton - Chattanooga TN - WBSDC9303J2875323 - 11/87

Thanks for posting your info.
I know you have been trying to sell this car.
I guess the high mileage has been a problem.
Too bad as the car looks pretty good from the photos I saw.
Can you post a photo here so the owners on this list can see it. They might be able to help you sell it.
If you keep it please consider coming to The Vintage in Winston Salem in May.
Thanks again,
Gary

The tool kit in all North American spec E28 M5s are the same. In other words, your car was delivered with the same tool kit as all other North American spec E28 M5s. There was no variation.

unless I'm seeing a reflection, those tools look like they were coated with something. Maybe some type of gunmetal coating to darken them up. They look nice regardless.

Interesting Louis.

Mine are the normal silver color like all E28's.

There is a product that is used to stop or prevent rust on metal. When you spray it on the metal it turns it a gun metal looking dark color or black.
Looks like the PO might have sprayed these to keep them from rusting.

Not the PO.
And they do look nice, "Hey Luis, throw me that 17 - 19 box end".
I think a great addition to the shadow-line look the rest of the car carries.

Nice pics, btw.

That's great Eric.
Yes, I remember this as Chris G car.

Can you give me a last name and I'll put you on the list.
Nobody's going to bother you.

I am coming out to CS Labor Day weekend to see an ailing Aunt & Uncle. I was born in Denver and have relatives all over CO.

Love to see the car if your around.

That'd be great Gary!

I'd love for you to take it for a spin and tell me what you think of the car. It seams to drive... different... from my 3.8L E34 M5.

Is the car on the M Registry?

This black interior M5 is discussed in the M5 forum as a wreck in San Antonio TX. 11/11

Just to try to keep track of any black on black I am listing the VIN here.

WBSDC930XJ2875206

Thanks,
