Can I "subscribe" to threads?
I've looked all over but can't see any solution....many forums have a subscribe feature so you can keep a tally on threads that are of interest to you....since I've been more actively searching a ton of topics here lately...I keep finding threads with great info or stuff that I'd like to keep available....but without any subscribe feature...the only way I can see would be to comment in the thread... which won't work as then I'd be bringing all kinds of old threads back to the top....
Am I missing something here or is it just unavailable?

That's a little different since phpBB doesn't have a way to manage the threads you're watching. "Watch this thread" only sends you an e-mail when there's a new reply in that thread. I think he's looking for a way to keep threads he's interested in listed in one place, which is how the "subscribe" feature works in vBulletin based systems. Think of finding an interesting thread on, say, ICV troubleshooting in the archives. He doesn't want to have to search for that thread again.Kyle in NO wrote:Yes, when you read this post, look just under the Reply button on the left. Just below it in blue lettering is a "Watch This Topic For Replies" button.
The easy way to do it is to simply bookmark the threads you want to keep track of. The thread number won't change. Use descriptive titles for the bookmark names and you should be all set.

Yea, I never really understood people wanting that to be the default. The constant e-mails would just agitate me I think. The "View Your Threads/Posts" functions on the main page are sufficient for me, but that default option is available for the people that like making their inbox explode.Kyle in NO wrote:Kohler's inbox would be full in 4 minutes.
