Due to change in circumstances I have to sell my dream car. 1988 was the only year the E28 M5 series was imported into the US and only 2191 of them! Paint still shines, has a few nicks here and there, few small rust areas (mostly surface, I can send pics). Not full of rot like a lot of these 80's Bimmers. No body damage at all. Jim comfronti chip installed! Also included is an additional clean 265 transmission which is more reliable than the currently installed 280 transmission. 2nd gear is out of the original is why I am including this direct replacement. New Sachs rear shocks installed on the rear but originals are included as well. Stainless steel afermarket exhaust recently installed. I am also including a new exhaust gasket which would need to be installed. No trades, serious inquires only, I don't have time for tire kickers. Car has been serviced by VOB of Maryland and our personal BMW Mechanic in Manheim. I am a non-smoker and the car has been completely restored as of 12 months ago. The Good: Very unique and very fast car. Definitely a show stopper when the hood is popped. Mechanically it is basically 100% complete. Everything works as it should. A/C blows cold, heat works, stereo works. Drives like a stock m5 except for lack of torque until boost hits. 2k miles so far and not one issue. Really can't say enough about how seamless the conversion has been.

The bad: The twin disc clutch is difficult to modulate in first gear. Takes some getting used to. The rest of the gears are extremely smooth. Waiting for boost lags...pun intended.. The car is not a cream-puff. I have cleaned up the interior some with the newer sport seats and recovered trim, but it still is definitely not mint. The exterior needs some love..."she's a 10 footer." The side skirts are sagging and the car could use a good detail. There are just some small things that need to be cleaned up. Rear tires will need to be replaced. Curb rash on the stock rims. It is an 11 year old car now so some of that is to be expected I guess.

I am sure there are some items I am missing, so will add more as I remember. I hate to sell this car but household affairs dictate that it goes. Please no tire kickers. I work ~60 hours a week and have three children, I really don't have time to answer questions if you aren't a serious buyer. No test drives unless you have a check or cash on you for the car. Thanks much.

For sale nice high millage BMW 535is. This is not a 535 it is a 535is with the 3.5 liter big inline six and five speed manual transmission. It has factory Recaro seats, front and rear factory spoilers. Car has recent Bilstein shocks and struts and handles like a dream, very harsh ride on poor road surfaces. Other items replaced include radiator, CV axle, front wheel bearing, hoses, slave cylinder, starter, intake manifold gaskets and a nice aftermarket radio. Car has some issues none of which make it unreliable. Let see the air does not work, and I am not going to lie like most people and say it needs a shot of freon, it has not worked for a long time and would more than likely need some parts I have never looked it what it would cost. The sunroof does not work but does not leak either. The odometer and tach does not work. The car has a kill switch on the front bumper and a push button start, long story will be glad to explain when you call. Just a good old high performance BMW, that gets really good milage for a car with this much power. Priced to sell! I have looked at prices and know that car is below market (see link below) not to mention hard to find a five speed 535is period. I have to many cars and don't use most of them and would rather some one have it than have it go to waste. As all car guys I would entertain trades (automotive only) but really would just like to sell. however a trade for 1973-1991 Chevy or GMC 4 door dually (old square style) would get me thinking. 1984 BMW M635 very early production of the e24 M car . The car was only available in Europe and had to be imported in. Back in the day the M635 was heralded as one of the best cars out there. It is truly a world class automobile. They were hand build and the workers put pride in there creations.

The car was the flag ship of the BMW sports car line. Powerful inline 6 with a 5 speed manual transmission, sun roof, power windows and AC, all wrapped in leather, what else could you ask for?

The car has a little over 110,000 miles making it used about 4,000 miles a year, just enough to keep it fresh but not enough to hurt it. Interior is very nice. You have to see it to appreciate it. The car is ready for your favorite late summer/early fall drive.

I have several 6 series that you can compare this one to including another euro M6 with fewer than 30k miles.
