Fort Worth -->Lubbock 315mi. 4 hrs flat

Once again.....dumb younger years (ok, semi-younger years). lol
That was this January at a young 41. Mom, who is constantly nagging about speed when I go up there, said "Get here NOW!" when my grandmother was going downhill fast and WW3 was breaking out with the Aunts. Also included a warning outside Guthrie for "over 70" by an understanding State Trooper.

my latest job has me working and sleeping with a 64-74 mile commute depending on which route I take. Fastest 74 mile ride ,(last 25 miles of which is posted 40 and under is 1 hr 20 minutes. Fastest 64 mile time which has only 6 miles under 40 is 52 minutes. The commute is better than my old 31miles into Beantown, at least an hour in all stall and crawl conditions.
Minneapolis to Seattle, 15 hours including rest breaks. that's a 1658 mile trip, by the way... avg speed 110.53 mph.
holy crap! I've done that exact drive a few times, and its like 20+ hours for us, with the cruise locked at 80mph the whole way.
You were cooking.
Where did you get the ticket ?

I can't say what the exact distance and time was, but in 2002 I was the last car in a 9 car train of "Cannonball One Lapers", driving across western NY state on Interstate 86. We were doing 120 for over 20 straight minutes on our way to Watkins Glen for the end to that years Cannonball One Lap of America event. It was wild to see that many cars (all with radar, scanners, and CBs) stretched out over the rolling hills of that remote part of the state. After the first few minutes it felt like we were doing about 70 mph. There was virtually no other traffic, and those we passed all waved at the less-than-stealth string of highly modified and stickered-up track cars. I'd had several other similiar runs with smaller trains at that year's event in TN and NC, (mostly in the middle of the night) but none were as sustained as that one.

Got the ticket right outside of Spokane. Was doing ~125 (I'm guessing, the speedo was broken) and saw the trooper pull his radar gun up from behind his door. Slammed on the brakes, and got it down to 95. Given the circumstances, the trooper was VERY nice. The ticket was for $224, and i was able to get it down to a $120ish equipment violation when I told the court about the broken speedo.
