I hope they cut this fucker's rope before the ride home starts. That's going to put a kink in the nightly commute.....

I don't know why they're closing lanes, he's hanging over the side out of traffic. If they just ignore him, he'll probably get bored and go home.MicahO wrote:I hope they cut this fucker's rope before the ride home starts. That's going to put a kink in the nightly commute.....
This does remind me of one of my peeves though. For some reason around here, everyone that wants to kill themselves by jumping off a bridge insists on doing it during rush hour. I for one think it's very inconsiderate. I mean, what's wrong with Sunday morning?
This is shaping up to be an outstanding day. There is a hottie in the building adjacent to us, one who I have never seen before today.
She just used the windows in a conference room that faces my office as a mirror to adjust her bra and re-tuck her shirt. All components are now sitting where they should, though I'm hoping that they get misaligned again some time in the very near future.....
Yeah. I'm doing the dirty-old-man dance.
The ironic thing is that I just had a long conversation with myself last night driving home, wondering why so many truck drivers put WOW on the back of their trucks. As if someone with a pair worth looking at was actually going to wave their hooters at the driver of said vehicle? I mean, I'm all about titties, and I'd love it if more of them were waved around on America's Highways and Byways. But I just don't see it happening.
Now I wonder if I should put WOW on my window here at work.....

Blam a Lam...
I had a good day. I got a call from the guy who instructed me for my Private Pilot license...what a remarkable guy. His name is Bill Field, he lives in Pittsburgh again, and he is my hero. He's getting along in years and is no longer flying...told me I was the only private pilot candidate he would put his wife in the plane with...
What a nice thing to say
On my second-ever flight lesson, he showed me how to fly a Cessna 152 with no ailerons or elevator...just power and trim.
(We used the doors of the plane to turn, and even land)
He was the best natural pilot I've ever seen.
See ya Billy

Not necessarily, and not by my experience.oldskool wrote:That IS correct information.rmiddendorf wrote:Baby diarrhea smells like buttered movie popcorn.
I think it depends on what said baby has been consuming.

The secret to Moules Marinières has always been shallots. The Greeks knew it. The Carthaginians knew it. Now YOU know it.
On an unrelated side note, I think I've pissed off my local Post Office. Ever since I filed that online complaint with the Postmaster, I go 4-5 days without ANY mail. I used to get daily credit offers from Citibank and Discover at the very least. I mean, I wasn't expecting any today because it's raining and they don't deliver in the rain in San Diego no matter where you live or whom you've pissed off, but still...

or what my grandma likes, king syrup that stuff is only fit to use as fan belt dressing

For the record, I don't really like "maple flavored syrup" at all. Gimme the real stuff or leave it off my plate. I've actually had pancakes with butter only. Tasty.
Blame that on the label printer. Also on the manufacturer, as they were the ones cheap & lax enough to allow a poor reproduction to be printed & applied to their product. You'd be amazed though at how few brands that you see on the shelf at the grocer are not produced by one or two manufacturers that custom label for a particular customer. And some even have the audacity to price theirs considerably higher than another. What a racket.Jeremy wrote:I find it disturbing that the stuff CR showed actually looks better in the container than it does in the picture on the label.
I don't remember the last time I had maple flavored syrup on my pancakes/waffles; we had waffles yesterday for breakfast, and I spread some yogurt on them and sprinkled brown sugar over that. Yum! That idea sprouted from the pancakes some friends served my wife & me when we spent a weekend with them; they topped the cakes with sour cream & applesauce. Sounds gross, but it's actually quite good. And the yogurt is an acceptable but healthier substitute for the sour cream.Jeremy wrote:For the record, I don't really like "maple flavored syrup" at all. Yea, if I'm going to have something that loaded with sugar on my breakfast, it better at least taste good!
I've heard of using sour cream and applesauce but never tried it. I'm guilty of using sour cream instead of milk to make scrambled eggs on occasion, I confess. I used half and half once, too. Those eggs were spectacular(ly bad for me)!

Funny, I've had the real thing a few times and could barely tell the difference between real Maple syrup and the fake stuff. On the other hand, on those rare occasions when I am having something like that for breakfast I look for the Boysenberry syrup. I dunno if it's real or fake, but I'll take it in a heartbeat over maple.
I went out for coffee with a couple of friends a while back; one of the guys ordered some hot cocoa, and when he tried it, commented that it tasted funny. We laughed & told him that's how real hot cocoa -- made by melting the shavings of a block of real chocolate in real milk -- should taste. Now he knows that the chemical concoction that most of us know as hot cocoa isn't even close to the real thing.Mike W. wrote:Funny, I've had the real thing a few times and could barely tell the difference between real Maple syrup and the fake stuff. I've eaten pancakes with (as labeled) corn syrup on them before. I won't say they were good, but it felt more honest then mrs butterass "maple flavored" syrup.Jeremy wrote:I find it disturbing that the stuff CR showed actually looks better in the container than it does in the picture on the label.

Usually I shell out for the real stuff or don't eat pancakes, but in a pinch I've found that butter with some confectioner's sugar dusted on top is absolutely delicious.
