Well, in his defense, his primary motive for asking me was to be his eyes behind the car to see if the brake lights were working or not. It just started acting up yesterday morning; he mentioned it when he came home around 2, which is uncharacteristically prompt for him. He knows what to look for and what to do now, so all is well.wkohler wrote:So, yeah, the system does seem to serve a purpose, but did it get him to actually look at the light hisself or did he just tell you that the check light wasn't going out? Honestly sounds like something he could have tackled if he's driving the car.
Just sayin'.
What did you do to your E28 today?

Not just yet... Gotta keep working on wifey prep before I shoot for something nicer. Patience, Glasshoppah.oldskool wrote:Time for some shopping!!DangerWillRbnsn wrote:davintosh wrote:Sold it.
It's not going far, and will still be under my purview, sorta. My 18 year old son is buying it.rmiddendorf wrote:??!?!?!?!?!??davintosh wrote:Sold it.
EDIT: That's my way of asking for more details.
He's been driving the car since I got the 735i, but he's been chomping at the bit to buy something of his own. He's done a lot of car shopping, and I think he just got sick of all the crap he found and the stupidity of so many of the sellers. The eta is a known quantity for him, is reasonably reliable, and doesn't take a rocket surgeon to fix. Plus we're giving him a screaming deal on it, and he doesn't have to pay sales tax on the purchase. Oh, and title transfer between family members is only like $6. That way it will be his car, not mine. Makes a difference to him I guess; he's happy, I'm happy.
Yup; he's a sharp kid. I'm sure he'll be hanging around here sometime in the future.

Just finished replacing the brake master cylinder and brake bomb. Whew! Glad that's over and the '33 is back on the road.
Wasn't able to replace the hose between the clutch MC and brake reservoir, so that'll need to happen soon.
Now the heater blower is starting to squeal, so I have a project for the weekend.
