Yea, like the one I took of myself when I was asked to hold Brad's camera when he went to the bathroom.

I strolled down for coffee at the la-de-da place where the prices make Starbucks seem reasonable. I'm sitting on the seawall drinking it now.
After coffee it's back home for a power nap so I'll be fresh and rested for Bloody Marys. :D

every thanksgiving, we gather in the living room after our turkey is prepared, and watch our VHS copy of "jumanji"

It disturbs me that you kept that image on your hard drive, Matt, but it doesn't really surprise me.

Happy Thanksgiving, all. Sorry that some of you have to work but be thankful you have a job even if it isn't the ideal situation.

Turkey is finishing up its soak in brine. It'll be in the oven soon.

I'm about to take some freshly baked apple pies to security down at the gate. I may need a designated driver however.

Love it, Duke! Your 'best friend' there is keenly interested in the outcome of your culinary work!

Paul, I use that brine approach too. Yum! A few more hours and we'll be thank-full. Pinot Noir recommended by the Sommelier today. :D

I noticed today (since I'm at home with nothing to do but look around and play in shop) that my neighbor has a new old toy in his driveway. What is it?

Buddy didn't seem to be too keen on my visit, so it is a distance shot from outside the invisible fence.

I know I should really ignore and not comment on Matt's posts 99.9% of the time; but... This one is a new low considering the tone of this thread.

Matt, this is as bad as most anything (that didn't get you the time out) from the "Eurobeat" days. You could be a productive (and dare I say respected) member of the forum here if you would finally grow up and resist the temptation to drawn attention to yourself with the inappropriate posts.

+1 as it encourages him. This could not pass though. I am really getting tired of all the gay comments out of him.

Well then it's a good thing I'm maturing because I had a post all ready to go regarding your apron and then deleted it. :)

The power nap went well. Just got back from picking up celery and limes for the BMs (also picked up a carne asada burrito from Roberto's to hold me over).
The family thing was last night so today is the FUN party. We're doing a beer tasting later and everyone has to bring one big bottle of beer. My contributions are Stone Brewing Double Bastard Ale & Green Flash Brewing Barlywine. Both are brewed locally.
I just have to put a playlist together on the Imod and then I can pretty much kick it 'til 3:00.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Charles, ever try a dill pickle spear in lieu of the celery?

Claussen FTW! Great minds think alike. :)
I actually hate celery for BMs. It provides zero flavor and displaces valuable volume in the glass. I have it on hand for less enlighten guests. I like big martini size olives and pickled string beans too.

I once ran into some spicy pickled green beans that were particularly well suited. Pickled carrots and pickled asparagus also work well. I agree with you both on the negative value of celery as a swizzle stick.

I'm envious of you all and I hope you all have lots to be thankful for today.

Add a jumbo shrimp in there for a shrimp cocktail you can drink. ;)

Feeling pretty fat and happy now. Turkey, cranberry sauce (home made), dressing, fresh green bean casserole made with home made mushroom soup, mashed yukon gold potatoes with roasted garlic and rosemary, and home made gravy. Washed it down with Samuel Adams Infinium 2010. Pumpkin bars for dessert. Took all day to cook (though using Alton Brown's method the turkey takes under 3 hours) and only minutes to consume.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday all!

Here at the hacienda was a wee bit nutz.
We had fried turkey and a honey glazed ham. Next came corn, spinach and green bean casseroles. There was a sweet potato something or another in there somewhere but I don't remember much about it. I do recall trying to take pictures of my Sister-in-law's ass but got caught because stupid cell phone makes noise when a photo is snapped. Awkward.

Scratch made pumpkin and apple pies rounded it all out and I even delivered some pies to some other people just to share.

Actually my gate. My security.
Found out the hard way that cameras suck.
