Wanted to post an update.
I am fairing fairly well.
The biggest negative side effects from the medication I've experienced yet is quite a bit more fatigue.
Getting a bunch of extra sleep helps along with relaxing in my favorite chair and my laptop tuned to MyE28.com.
I've got to take the Incivek every 8 hours along with 20 grams of fat, thus the oddball hours, including tonight.
Last Saturday my youngest son, 24, pulled a motor/tranny from the red E30 parts car
and swapped them into his resurrection project, his first BMW, an '88 Alpine/Cardinal 325is 5 spd coupe.
He bought the car in '06, thrashed the heck out of it until it gave up the ghost in '08, and it's been sitting ever since.
His older brother and himself had been picking over it keeping their cars going.
I really never expected to see that car back on the road. He's taken on a monumental task and it's coming along quite nicely.
So, getting out there and being able to supervise and not getting my hands dirty, well too dirty, has been a nice change.
There have been some special visits over the past few weeks that really helped break the monotony.
1 of 30 M5 and riverrat, dropped by to say "hey" and hung out and helped my son a bit with the above project.
Dragonbar's been here to borrow tools and driveway space a couple of times to do some maintenance on his new E28 (still no pics yet?).
And then today I got a lunch invitation by none other than Mr. dolomiti himself. I won't pass up a free meal.
And there was the day Rich, Luis and I went to lunch and then Rich and I went to check out a car for 02Touringtii.
There have also been several PM's from members with well wishes.

All in all things are good.
I'll find out in two more weeks if the Incivek is doing it's job against the HCV.
If I get a positive report, then it's on for the long haul, up to 48 weeks of therapy, but maybe as short as 24.
I'm praying for the 24.

Peck away at something to keep yourself busy . A few days after starting chemo, my BIL drops by to check on me. I had to crawl out from under the Jeep to greet him. Every time , I began a new treatment, they always said " it will make you a little tired" I was taking naps at 2 PM. I kinda miss them.

ShermFest has a scary ring to it, but Snobfest- I like it. LSB&F is a permanent fixture. SnobFest would just be Vintage/RTT South. One time deal, IF NEEDED, because he'll be there next year for sure. Maybe get Sherm a live video feed from some fool's car on the road?

This week I will be getting the blood results in that are definitive enough to warrant staying on the medication or not through the complete cycle.
Previous results have been very positive and promising, but a certain threshold has to be reached and this past week's blood draw was for that specific purpose.

It's a bitter sweet end.
The therapy showed signs of working early on, moving significantly from a 10,002,000 IU/ml (quantitative viral load) down to 3,090 IU/ml,
but this last weeks report showed an increase in viral load to 15,690 IU/ml which implies the virus has, in my own words, mutated to resist the drug.
Bottom line, no more drugs, work on rebuilding the RBC (2.2) and WBC (3.4), regaining strength and energy level, and get serious about prepping for The V and RTT.
