Mine arrived earlier this week, although I had him send it to my work address (doh!) and I'm not allowed to drive until I'm off the pain meds. Mebbe I can get somebody to do me a favor...
I've also been keeping tabs on who has posted up that they have sent their box out, and so far 26 out of 42 have. Since the deadline to send out came & went a couple of days back, and there's still a good five shipping days until Christmas, I'll cut you all a bit of slack. But if you've already sent yours out, by all means, say so. And if you haven't sent yours out, by all means, just do it!

Mine went across the counter at 9:29 PM last evening. The clerk said I got my money out of the flat rate option.

I missed it this year. Oh, well. I'll start saving "stuff" for next year.

You mean you 'missed' opening up a box of random and likely embarrassing and smelly stuff in front of your loved ones while trying to explain why you opened a box with random underwear, urine bottles,
and BMW Roundels?
Actually now that I put it that way this sounds like fun. I'm in next year and will ship my box rcv'd to the person I'm sending. Buyer beware.

THAT's the spirit meow!
I have a hard time making things fit and I keep my eyes peeled daily for new loot to ship.
Just now found my petrified frog and an old ex-tra large bikini bottom (sorry box-recipient dude) I had saved for this go round. Next year?

mine went out today -- a couple of days late -- because I completely misunderstood the concept of the flat rate box. Am I the only one who thought it was like postage?
just like Chris my postal worker told me twice how much money I saved. The first time I replied that its not really a savings because I wouldn't have shipped it but for the flat rate box. She then told me I saved $104 to ship 16 lbs before Christmas. That cant be right.
Next time can we do this without involving the post office?

You don't have one of these at your post office?
Walk up, push some buttons about "flat rate box", it spits out a shipping label with postage.
Maybe I got lucky, since the machine at the PO was open, and I walked right up. Took 3 minutes, max.
Last year was a different story, since I didn't use the flat rate box, but that was on me.

yes, but the line for that machine was about the same length as the other line and I didnt want to take my chances with a luddite in that line. So I chose to talk to the chinese postal worker rather than stand in line and interact with the automated chinese postal worker

You got it all wrong Rodney... most of the "stuff" is very interesting, cool, useful, and PG (except maybe stuff from some former Parts guy from TN
). At least that's the case for what I've received and have given over the past couple years. So, don't think you'd be getting junk... 'caus it just ain't so!
You should join the party next year... it's a very cool tradition that's been started... and now maintained by Dave (thanks Dave)

Has nothing to do with that; I'm just a minimalist when it comes to stuff. Need first, then stuff. My dad was a hoarder.
I even have personal rules for
me and my stuff. My wife doesn't have to follow them though.

Without involving a trip to the Post Office or without sending through the USPS? If it's a trip to the PO you want to avoid, just stop at there to pick up the box, then do the transaction online, print your postage yourself & tape it to the box. You could even arrange to have your friendly postal delivery person drop off the empty box and pick up the full one. Welcome to the 21st Century.

USPS is not coming up to my house. We still haven't settled the last lawsuit yet.
Carry on Rodney.

I know, I did not plan this well. What I really wanted to send is still stilling on my floor because I waited too long to see if it would fit in the box I had. I wouldn't and when I went to get the other size, they were out. Next year ..

Um, I'd sure hate for that to mean you won't send something out this year...
Edit: Never mind; I see now where you
already mentioned you sent it out.
Sorry.

I'm amazed at the trail of items I have found that I thought were in the box I sent. I wonder what I actually put in there...
This is why I hate deadlines. I'm really disappointed that I didn't want to be the guy who screwed up the whole deal, so I worked and worked and worked while others get to say, "Oh, yeah. That thing. Totally spaced on it. Will get it out bro, like totally. Totally tubular.
