They're 36lbers. yeah around there is when the car idles best, those it idles on the rich side.

Where did you get your 60lb injectors from? Im looking at upgrading in the not too distant future.

Your PW's will depend on idle speed also. Not everyone runs the same idle speed. My idle is ~850rpm.

My idle is also ~850 rpm with a PW around 2.7ms running 42lb/hr injectors. MAP at idle is around 42kpa at around15 degrees of timing.

Well, I got them from RPM Outlet in June of '07. They were the 60lb EV1 and went for $236 for 8. I see on the website they are around $400 now. I'm thinking of downsizing though, I bought these when I still messing around with a piggy back system that failed miserably. It runs and idles pretty well, so who knows. I may sell mine and try a size smaller just out of curiosity. MS2 is calling for me too...

I got my 42lb/hr injectors from Deatschwerks. They have their 60lb/hr ones for $289 which is a good price. They are also high-z which makes tuning them in MT that much easier.

Hi,

I'm currently megasquirting a M30B30 engine in an E32. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated:

Car idles ok at 900-1000 rpm when warmed up. I'm not currently using the ICV.

Running MS2 Extra + Wasted Spark, naturally aspirated. Wideband 02.

Hey guys, i'm so close i can taste it. I'm stuck on the LC-1 at the moment though. I followed goatthumpers directions and fed 12v to the LC-1 for the initial calibration however when I plug in the o2 harness and turn the car to the on position my LED doesn't light up.
I tested the harness coming from the car and i can't seem to et 12v from it. Does the o2 get 12v in the on position? On the e34 there is no o2 relay, it runs through the fuel pump relay.

Anyway i'm terrible at this kind of stuff and frustrate easily with wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I did on my e24:

I found a wire that was hot (read: live) when the ignition was on.

I used this as the signal for a standard relay. Now when the ignition is on, the relay is activated and the O2 (LM-1 in this case) has +12v power.

Also, try to ground the O2 to the same place as MS, so you don't have to worry about voltage drop offs.

I agree. I would add a new relay for the WB. Use a switched 12v source for a new relay that has batter power fed to it. Also, as George mentioned, it's important that you ground it where MS is or you'll wind up with offsets. If you need some more assistance with this let me know.

You could use the old oxygen sensor heater relay.

Okay guys i need some ideas here....yes i know its wayy over due but i STILL have not gotten a chance to verify timing..and now i think i need to more than ever since In a month or so the e30 will be back to my DD duty.

I have extremely poor visual access to the front timing cover since everything is squished in a E30m30 swap :( and i tried shooting my timing light @ the little hole in the bellhousing and that didn't work too well either since i could not make out the TDC mark on the flywheel :(

I was thinking to turn over the motor till it is at TDC then make another TDC reference mark with some white-out or something where i can see with the timing light. Would this work?

If not, throw any suggestions...Its kinda fustrating.. :x

Any way you can make markings so you can see the timing will work. What you suggest below should work fine. I used a coathanger clamped the radiator to do the timing test.

It sounds like you are not running Extra code. You need to reflash your firmware to MS2 Extra release code.

oh wow. I'm gonna do that tonight!

And thats why I dont fuck with my firmware.

Apparently you and I both dont know how to do it right.

Are you using the .bat file to install the firmware?

lol .wat? I think I did. you know what I did do? uninstalled all megatunes and re-installed ms2 extra2.0 or whatever the latest is. I still can not connect. I hope nothing is different because I am running the V3.57 box

You might try downloading the firmware w/o megatune. It may be easier to install.

and I dont see anything different. what do I have to do to update?

Posted: Apr 28, 2009 11:50 PM

You need to run the file "download-MS2-firmware" which is an MS DOS batch file. This will prompt you on what to do. You then will need to run the copyini file.

alright, got it updated. BUT NOW I cannot communicate with the megasquirt. with the jimstim connected, i cannot turn knobs and see things happening on screen. when I try to connect, it does not recognize the port.

Posted: Apr 29, 2009 12:21 AM
by Brad D.
Are you using a USB adapter? If so make sure the port agrees. Make sure baud rate is set to 115k. Did the copyini file work? If the .ini is not correct, Megatune will not recognize the firmware on MS.

son of a mother- maybe i just needed to exit megatune and re start it, seems to be working now. Brad, I really don't know what I would do without your help. I really owe you one (or more) thanks!!. GOOD NIGHT!

I've posted a pdf of my power point notes from the MegaMeeting 2009

http://www.pftuning.com/megasquirt/Mega ... d_2009.pdf

The trigger wheel stuff was a last-minute request from James; I did all the screen shots friday afternoon in between rides in Phil Tobin's 9.1L Corvette

The bad solder joint was on a MS box that broke in PA; the owner rented a car to drive the rest of the way down. We fixed the box there as part of the presentation.
