The Kokanee is cold Todd. Have a safe trip and make sure Harper is a good navigator. TedT_C_D wrote:Made a few minor repairs to the e28 this afternoon. Packing for the trip. Leaving tomorrow evening and driving until 11PM. Arriving Friday afternoon at Ted's!

I went through Port Huron around 2pm on Tuesday and there was some traffic, but not too bad. They were lined up around 6 deep at the toll booth ($3) and the Canadian border across the bridge. The whole process probably took 15-20 minutes.alijonny wrote:hmmm. ok. and for tolls, will ezpass/ipass work? Are CB radios legit?
awesome! I do want to hit up Toronto.Kenny Blankenship wrote:I went through Port Huron around 2pm on Tuesday and there was some traffic, but not too bad. As far as the speed limits, nobody really goes 100 kmh, but until you get into the cities, most seem to keep it under 120 kmh (we were going 110-115). You will see an occasional highway patrol car. As you get closer to Brantford, people seem to drive faster, around 115-125 kmh. In some spots we were around 130. Coming from Chicago, you should be used to the driving habits...
We're learning about the transit system here, you can take the GO train ($5.75) from Mississauga into Toronto and pay $10 for an all day pass in the Toronto (subways, buses, trolley cars).
Yeah, don't forget it's a work week, so there is rush hour traffic...alijonny wrote:awesome! Ted, too bad you were not able to put together a car/motorcycle washing station with the Maxbimmer ladies at the Bradley Museum on Saturday.Ted in T.O. wrote:see you on Friday at my Casa for the car wash, refreshments and pizza.

See ya Saturday Morning.
Why don't you bring beer/wine in with you?Jeremy wrote:The Beer Store.
Seriously. It's gub'mint owned (or the government only gave out one license to sell, I don't recall the exact details). Regardless, they're all called the same thing, it's a monopoly. Ask at the hotel desk where the nearest one is. Be ready for some mild sticker shock, you'll never forget about duty free again!
Sometimes I do when it's something special or not available up there. Buying at Duty Free means no tax/duty/deposit. It's generally the least expensive option, and they nearly always have Moosehead and/or Kokanee.Duke wrote:Why don't you bring beer/wine in with you?
Not only sticker shock, but no booz for sale on Friday because it is a statutory holiday. It is Canada Day.Duke wrote:Jeremy wrote:Be ready for some mild sticker shock, you'll never forget about duty free again!
Are the bars closed too? You do have bars there, don't you?Mark in Toronto wrote:Not only sticker shock, but no booz for sale on Friday because it is a statutory holiday. It is Canada Day.Duke wrote:Jeremy wrote:Be ready for some mild sticker shock, you'll never forget about duty free again!
This sounds like it could go epic...alijonny wrote:well, if someone is still coming through and reads this, buy extra beer at the duty free and I will reimburse you. PLEASE?
and before you enter Canada, pick up some U.S. ketchup packets. We are going to do blind taste testing.
Bring whatever you want Cactus or stop in at the duty free shop and buy whatever you want at a much cheaper price. TedCactus wrote:I'll bring extra beer. What kind should I get? Spaten and Warsteiner get my top picks. Dos Equis is my fall back. Failing those, well, it all depends on what I find. I won't bring a very big cooler, it's either a huge one or a not so huge one. My trunk needs space for all the tools I'm bringing.
yeah bring whatever. Bring 2 cases of something decent. "import" beers like Coors, Budweiser, etc are acceptable LOL. Nothing too strong otherwise...you need to be here... We are talking overgrown zucchinis. I can't say any more online, I must protect my online imageCactus wrote:I'll bring extra beer. What kind should I get? Spaten and Warsteiner get my top picks. LOOK, you see the little green sausage looking thing above 375ml? that was missing from the Canadian ketchup bottle.Nanajoth wrote:
