changed my oil and oil level sender (no more light on the check panel!) trouble shot my non functioning speedometer some more I now know that the problem is in the cluster as I get ~8V at the connector for the sensor. Also patched my holy muffler with a 1kg Tim Hortons coffee can, a tube of muffler cement and some bailing wire.

Oh and I cleared the drains for the spare tire well.... ~2L of water drained out

Finished the new dash install over the weekend, and cleaned up the knee panel and glovebox. They cleaned up better than I thought they would. Looks great!!!

(I still think anyone doing the dash with the windshield is a HERO!)

Got #5 style 8 in with a very very nice 235/50/16 Conti Sportcontact tire on it.

Now I need to shim up the trunk carpet so the spare will fit in the hole, and roll the fenders so when I get the other 4 tires we'll be good.

Four new Falken Ziex tires 225 50r16
All new steering linkage. I acutally got one of the ball joints to pop by hitting it with a hammer. Puller for the rest.
Alignment.

Uncovered him and started him! Started right up, idled rough for a bit but then got back to normal. Maybe I should have put fuel stabilizer in the tank. I've never done that in a car I'm only storing for 5 months.

Anyway, the cover looks like its disintegrating all over the paint so I'm leaving it off. Looks like pollen all over the car. If I get time in the next few days a bath may be in order.

50 degrees F is Bandit driving weather! Com'on Spring!

Oh yeah, and I also discovered my left front fog light is out. Hopefully its just the bulb. (Fingers crossed.)

Or the fuse. That would be easier to fix, but might require a spare fuse supply.

Well how often does it go? Once a month or so I might live with, once a week and we've got a good reason to run a new wire from the fusebox.

Pretty much every time I turn them on it pops. I just quit turning them on. I'm gonna do a nice cleaning, etc of the fusebox. I think there is an issue on the light side of the wire. I have to sit down a figure it out one day when I'm motivated.

Not sure what style fogs you have, but,
a recent similar failure in the E34 Touring fog turned out to be old wires with dried/cracked insulation in the rear housing that connects the bulb wiring to the external harness plug.

Rolled it out of the neighbor's garage & had to throw a battery charger on it to get it started. It's been sitting a little over a month without being run. Once I got it started, I let it run for a while, then drove it to Menards. When I came back out, the bugger wouldn't start, so had to go begging for a jump. Humbling. Now it's back at home with the charger on it for the night. And I plan on picking up a trickle charger for it too.

Cool! Yours turned out much better than my first/last attempt. What's your secret to getting it to fit tightly around the plastic doodad that holds it onto the console?

Checked fluid levels (needs more washer fluid), cleaned all the glass, and mended the boot lock, again (the arm thinger for the power locks keeps falling out)

Had to park my car outside after a fill up because the gas fumes were stinking up the whole house. Pulled the rubber seal thingy out of the way and saw that all three vapor hoses going to the expansion tank in the trunk had rotted clear through. Mystery solved. New hoses on order. Luckily the filler neck doesn't appear to be corroded. Wonder if my car will idle better when it actually has some fuel tank fumes to suck on instead of clean air.

I bumped up my rear suspension to get rid of the negative rake. I'm now on the very top perch in the rear with billie sports and spax springs.

Raced out to Pick N' Pull at 8:30 for what I believed to be an "88 535 i/is." Shit out there goes faster then hotcakes. Anyway, it turned out to be an '87 ETA. Stupid fuckers

Anyway, grabbed the door pillar cover, radio fader switch and like new Bremi plug wires. Also, found a brand new Dropkick Murphys CD in an '82 320i. SCORE!

Attached the makeshift exhaust to the B35. Man....the butt dyno seems to read a bit lower now.

Oh well.....that shall all be recouped soon enough....
