A little more subtle than my cutting torch suggestion to one here recently... but not much.
Certified trip to the ER. I'm guessing 35-40 stitches will close it up. Pure Bone head.

I ordered a few goodies for my family last week, and was kinda freaking out when it looked like they wouldn't ship in time to deliver before Christmas, but just got notification today that the last of them has shipped and should be here by the 21st!

Here's hoping the Mayans were wrong.

Done with Christmas cards this year.
50$ in postage alone and I'm just now getting a complete breakdown on total costs.
I'm going back out in the garage for a bit.

There is a big tree across the street that fucks up an otherwise fine view of Mission Bay. We've had a freakish amount of rain over the last week and there are gale force winds forecast for tonight. Could saturated ground + top heavy tree + high wind = a Christmas miracle? Image

I like trees.

Imagine what they feel like not being able to move. I wonder if my trees like me or not. I like them. Wonder if its a mutual feeling.

I think your trees like you but your rose bushes have trust issues.

Some selective root pruning tonight will help bring your Christmas wishes closer.
Are there no elves at your disposal?

Or maybe a tall elf with a long rope and a Cummins diesel truck?

Well, unfortunately no Christmas miracle, the tree is still standing. There are however, enough palm fronds on the ground to re-roof the Tiki bar 100 times over.

On a side note, what kind dumbasses go out in a gale in a boat like this?

The last of my wife's friends Christmas parties is tonight. My list of "Don'ts" is long and I'm not allowed a single beer. WTH. (She's never mentioned flasks). :) Gee, you piss off of one balcony . . .

My wife had her Christmas party last night; spouses were not invited. Guess that's for the best since they're all nurses, and their sort of humor leaves me feeling a bit queasy.

She did come home with a nice gift though, but I didn't get to see it until this morning; walked out to my car & saw this. Very funny. Very funny indeed. We'll see who has the last laugh. :D

Aw, c'mon, healthcare stories = best stories. There was an incident last year where I was sitting at lunch with two fellow pre-nursing classmates. Myself and one had previous healthcare experience and started swapping tales. The other one asked us to stop a few minutes in. She was losing her appetite.

Yah, The local CG is looking for a lobster boat whose last known position was 15 miles off P'town Saturday night. It was a Maine boat with a 2 man crew.

One of the buildings we take care of is the County Morgue. Aside from it smelling just like you thought it would, imagine getting the call to unplug the garbage disposal.

Yes, it happens, it really does.

Lots of dogs do really well with kids. Most of the time kids can pull on the tail, the ears, try to ride them and they'll just put up with it, they know the difference between kids and adults.

It was time again for Luminary Lane in our neighborhood tonight. The weather wasn't as good as last year -- temp outside right now is a brisk 12°F -- but at least the wind wasn't blowing. Beautiful night for a walk around the block to see the lights. And I broke out the tripod & got some halfway decent photos, in spite of my crappy old point & shoot camera.

Our house is on the left, with the wife's X5 in the driveway. Can't see it in the photo, but the X5 is wearing the Rudolph-inspired nose and antlers, much to my middle son's horror.
