The only thing that's going to intercept, is the Mc Donalds drivethru.
We have those here now too, two of them?

The only arrests made in my area are DUI's and theft at the local mall--obviously it was a very important upgrade for the police department.

Was out metal detecting today. My first time out since summer. Found an 1888 indian head penny. Unfortunately its not the 8 over 7 variant. Worth $3 and not the $1100 I was hoping for. Fun nonetheless.

I think I want to get a Miata. I've been told I'm having my midlife crisis at 20 (I hope not!). Unfortunately Spec E30 isn't a class around here, but the last NASA race at MSR Houston had 30 Spec Miatas. It was a much cleaner race than I expected!

i just turned 25 about a month ago, and have decided for myself, that this summer, i will acquire an NA miata, preferibly a 90-93. i learned stick on a '92 many moons ago.. and performed many a mods with my pops on it. 1.8 swap, roll bar, poly bushings, suspension, and all the maintenance. (and some fixing for teenage OOPS haha)

(he still has the car, and its still on the original transmission (to the chassis)) with over 300k on it! dead reliable for as hard as we would beat on it!!

now that he's in tx, and i'm in ca, i miss that car so much!!! when at least one (*edit* at a time, the '92 has always been there, had a '94, and a '96, the '96 was acquired when i was 17, and i proceeded to total in a few months when the gas pedal got stuck under the buzz post mats, and i miss shifted and spun, that engine is in the '92) NA miata has been in the family for over a decade, i think i might be genetically prone to them.

My dad taught my youngest brother to change oil today. Also taught him to make sure the o-ring comes off with the old filter. I wish he would have taught him that before starting the engine in the garage.

I have a 1995 Miata. Most of the time it sits in the Garage. Everytime I think of selling it, I drive it, and remember why I will never get rid of it. If you want an early one, i'd suggest 1994-1997...slightly bigger brakes and 200cc larger engine.
I hadn't driven it for a long time, because i was fat, but I've lost around 50lbs in the last year or so, and the interior fits me nicely again. I've driven this car across the USA 3 or 4 times, Tail of The dragon, Angeles crest, Mexico, Canada.

Yeah, I decided that when I get one it will either be a '94 or later NA or an NB. I wasn't aware the brakes were bigger on the late NB's as well, that's good to know.

They made a few pretty cool special edition models IIRC. My friend's dad had one and it was CLEAN. He sold it about 5 years ago though. It would have been a cool car to preserve except that they pulled it behind an RV for a few years and racked the miles up on the odometer even though the drivetrain had very few miles on it.

yeah they're bigger, but not by much. i like the earlier na's dashes, and the ease of finding one without power steering. manual steering miatas have such an awesome steering feel.
my dads 92 has a 96 `1.8 in it, with the later brakes as well! love that car. so throughly modded (well the engine, other than the swap, is untouched)

Spent an hour at the MVD. Nothing, not even close to my number being called. Googled one of those "third party" title service places. Walked right up to a counter, no questions, service charge was more than the title, tax, and tags, but i walked out with everything i needed. (Total was $58.50) That's more than I got from my THREE previous visits to the MVD.

Can't say I'm surprised if your DMV is anything like Calif's, but that's an outrage. (actually what really pisses me off is I think the fee to walk in the door is more than that here in Calif)

I have to do a presentation at our monthly department meeting tomorrow morning. It's the Engineering department so it can be a tough crowd. I guess I should start working on it...

You ever feel like you need to clean off your desk? I fucked up one of my PCB designs for my senior design project, been diagnosing it. Both the hot air stations are on because I was doing heatshrink and hot snot.

There have been times where I just pushed everything off onto the floor and went from there. It just wasn't going to work one piece at a time.

At this point, i don't even care. My hour is definitely worth $35. Plus, there's no BS. I give you money, you provide a service. Isn't that what business is supposed to be like?

I can guarandamntee that I will be a return customer.

No, I mean it's an outrage the DMV is treating you like that. Part of it comes down to the state legislators and how the DMV is budgeted, but to get such a poor level of service from an organization you are required to deal with is maddening. And here at least, in most of the mid to large metro areas, the staff are at best as cold as ice and most are outright rude and obnoxious.

I think my presentation at the monthly department meeting went well. The word around the water cooler was that it was better than the presentation on the108" butterfly valve replacement and THAT"S saying something.
