Any idea where a rather large "support" vehicle and trailer might be able to park? Probably with some northerners it? I think the stars are starting to align for us to make it down for our first TexFest this year. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We don't need hook-ups, but if there is somewhere close that might have them, we would be much obliged.
Probably on-site if the driver knows how to park it.
I'll check with the owner. What's the overall length?
There's plenty of camping in the region, so it shouldn't present any problems either way.
Just that quick, here's your answer.
If it can be backed in-to or out-of a space, it can be parked on site.
If not, other close-by arrangements can be made.
Thanks Sherman. Sounds good. I will check on the overall length. We might want to drop the trailer somewhere if it becomes a length problem. Starting to get an itchy trigger foot (on the throttle of an S38). Woohoo

C'mon down and we'll check the length when you get here.
While on this subject of "c'mon down".
I talked to Brian, Dallas' husband, they own The Historic Leakey Inn, and he said if anyone else needs lodging
to give them a call, 830-232-5246, and they'll get you a room at a close by motel at a better rate than the advertised price.
As a matter of fact, he said they may even own the other place by the time we get there. They're in negotiations now.
It looks like I'll be grabbing a spot in Kato's trailer and heading South. I figured that after 10 or so years of giving/taking everyone's shit it is high time to meet some of ya'll. I was thinking about throwing plates on the track car but that might be pushing things so the e21 Baur's coming out of a long hibernation and getting some much needed exercise.
The coach w/trailer's about 80', give or take. Greg can correct me if I'm wrong but I think we're leaving on the 17th and driving straight through.

Pretty please bring the track car?? There are a few of us that would love to see it in person and get ideas for our own E28 track cars.
no signals
no tail lights
no side windows
3" off the pavement
rides like an ox cart
noisy as hell
uncomfortable
smells like an armpit
no headlights and no provisions to have any.

Yep, it's true, the reclusive BillinMN, is being dragged out of the north woods of Minnesota, to actually show his mug to the vintage BMW motoring public. The man, the myth, the legend will actually be among us mere mortals to regale us with tales of Porsche and Corvette slayings all at the hands of a lowly blue BMW held together with spit and wood glue. (You probably think I'm kidding).
As for traveling, we will be heading out of Mankato on the 17th, heading to Kansas City, with the intent of arriving in Leakey sometime in the afternoon of the 18th. Then the hunt for place to park will begin.

That said, I'll think about it.
Don't forget it covers the driver in brake dust, too. As for lights, take 'em off the chumper. They'd look sweet. Not really but they would work
From what I can tell using online maps, the closest E85 is one station in Kerrville, about 60 miles, and a few stations in San Antonio, about 100 miles.
